The EBR is the underdog here. If I understand correctly, the BMW has a full fairing with a full exhaust and tune, vs the EBR being naked with just a slip on. I'd like to see an S1000SX stock against the EBR stock, or an S1000RR against an EBR1190RX.

As A 2 Buells owner and An RC 51- The Buells Launch like the Beast it has been developed to be. Erik Buell scored a 10 on the Buells. Now the new owner that bought Buell BILL MELVIN I believe, is slowly making a come back. That 1190 and the other models on display down in Daytona Florida at Bike Week Behind Rossmyers Dealership at (Jegs) inside and the Dirt Bikes and Street Bikes ALL Gorgeous ready to ride. Of course there's money up front for the Porsche ( of motorcycles). With the right professional Riders on the race tracks YOU Might not Catch the Buell. The Bikes drag races while entertaining are inconsistencies with proper shifting. STILL though Entertaining.. Love my Buells. YES I love that 2002 RC 51 as well. 👍🏼 😏

@@Letsgetit1600 I have been riding and Building bikes for 42 years now. Lots of Buells. I still go to the Tracks and have my testing Days. Sure Riders of all sorts say, I Wish I had Gotten a Buell. I have had So many bikes ALL Sports Models. I have never ridden on a Highway like an Idiot. RACE Tracks only. That Said I don't know if this is your first bike.. Every Motorcycle has to be maintained, Motorcycles are not Vehicles. For some reason people just don't have the inner Love of Wanting to learn and Deal with Maintenance, and Repairs. Buells like any other Motorcycle has to have Engine work at certain Mileage. TAKE the 2005 Buell, you are looking at. THE 10'000, Miles, maintenance is critical. The Valve Shims or Adjustments have to be done. So many times I have bought a Motorcycle cheap because they did hardly any Maintenance work.. Especially valves work. It's always at the 9'000 miles or 15'000 that many people sell the bike, or at 10 or so years older. They know the Valves are clicking and Maintenance is overdue, and not Cheap but doesn't redone with proper oil changes. AMS Oil works best in a Buell.. NEVER USE Screaming Eagle in a Buell. As Far as Maintaining a Buell there are places to still get parts for them. Saint Paul's Harley Davidson Has Bailed me out, with Their Buell Guy in Parts. There is another place in the Netherlands THEY KNOW their Stuff. I HAVE purchased from both for over 20 years. THEN there is still Erik Buell Racing. But only the Newer Bikes the New Owner Bill Melvin Sells, Those 1190s are Monsters. All the Big Buells Are Beautiful Powerfull Monsters. SO if you like, Yes They need Maintenance, SO IF You don't buy the Buell at least do plenty of Research on others beforehand.. I love the Hondas, (Reliable)And Yamahas But Unfortunately the Newer Suzuki's suck very high Maintenance. . I HOPE this helps. The Honda Shadow above 550,cc are Excellent bikes. Especially if you're learning or Just want Something Easy to Maintain. ONE MORE Thing MAKE Sure On this Buell you're looking at hasn't been Hacked up Exhaust wise OR The Ecm hasn't been hacked. Does it Backfire upon Deceleration. If it has Use that to gently get a better price. THAT will need to be corrected. BUELLS are a Different Bike. There's plenty to learn of them. The EBR was the naked model (1190SX) and didn't have the aero like the BMW (S1000rr). The EBR 1190RX would have been a better comparison.

Dude the 2010 and 11 had different tails the 12-14 had the slim tail. then in 15+ is when they redid the whole bike from front to rear, look up gen 3 s1000rr. I have a 2016 as well all black as you can see on my IG coreyp_1K .
