Hello, I hope you read this, can you say me a guide to build your remove tool please? Thank you

Would you rebuild one for me? How much would you charge? I took mine apart and it looks fine but I hear the grinding noise coming from under the car when i turn it off/on so I really think its the actuator.

My advice - get a new one ($170 on eBay brand new now), saves you some time and possible side issues.

What was wrong with your xdrive? What symptoms it had. My 535 seams as if the front wheels dont want to turn.

Remy Helu the front wheels will not be engaged until traction is lost in the rear

After I replaced this , the light didn’t come on for a long time but later came on again, I used inpa to read the diagnostic code and the car reported back saying a faulty wheel speed sensor on the front driver side sensor. I took it apart and found that there was a piece of metal on the magnetic sensor. I cleaned it and it fixed it for about 9 month but recently came back on again

Did the same job yesterday, but had a big struggle with hammering on a new replacement worm drive (it did not go smoothly, even after pre-heating). After putting everything back together the whole thing sometimes works, but quite often I get 4x4 error only (so at least tracktion and ABS are back). What appears to be is that my xDrive case sometimes jams in fully locked position (fully engaged limited-slip clutch). So the car is full AWD all the time. And now getting inner rear wheel slip when cornering. So, now I am thinking on buying a new actuator anyway, because my suspect is that new worm drive got deformed because of hammering, so it jams. Or something else went wrong in it.

I have a 2008 e60. Old actuator was worn like this. Bought a cheap $130 actuator from ebay, which fixed all lights. Then I have the same jamming problem as you did. Considering to fix the old actuator.

@@dikaixu3019 eventually, after couple weeks of driving it un-jammed itself and was fine ever since. Maybe drive it some more time. It tries to engage/disanage it every time you start/stop the car. It may go away on its own. I think that may happen because xDrive Control System still adjusts target values for actuator motor torque (with new lubed actuator gears now it needs to apply less torque than it used to with old worn-out gears in dirty grease).

@@alexm7056 Thanks! I'll try driving it for a few more weeks. I did use the ISTA-D to reset/calibrate the actuator. Apparently it didn't help.

@@dikaixu3019 Did it go away? I did the same, bought a new motor on eBay and now I have grinding. At least before I didn’t have grinding with the old broken actuator. Wondering if driving for a little bit will fix it.
