I grew up there as well. Before Harbor House. There used to be a lighthouse and restaurant on the north side of the inlet. I remember shrimping there as a little boy in the early 50's. The shrimp used to be huge ! At night, you could dip them up with net from the seawall.

With that small RHI.. It's not just the waves that he was at the mercy of, but the wind as well. High winds can flip that over in a heartbeat. Happened to two crewmembers I knew during a SAR case in the Coast Guard. They were in 58deg water for 10min.

I'm curious why the sportfisher/convertibles all come in with their outriggers out, since they need to be stowed for docking anyway. There aren't trolling at this point are they?

I lived on the west coast of BC Canada and my father and I would go out fishing in a 15 ft fiberglass boat with a 50 HP Merc in 5 ft chop. Dad was a great boat operator and always got us home safe,I was only like 6-7 yrs old but learned alot and how to run the swells to make it back down the inlet 🤗 you have to know when to power up or down so your not plowing wave's or getting back washed!
