One of the MP’s that was in my reserve unit his first duty station was as an MP in the Canal Zone. He said he knew stuff was about to pop off because previous *IF* they had received ammo for their weapons it was only a handful of rounds. But all of a sudden everyone was issued max load outs and nobody signed for anything. Said that they were routinely doing dismounted patrols in the Jungle around the canal itself and because of the close distance they usually carried shotguns, now everyone had full magazine tubes plus spare ammunition, in addition to their sidearms, and their 60 gunners brought them as well.

Spent 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th from 04-12. If it wasn’t for NCO’s like this I wouldn’t have come home from my first deployment. I isolate quite a bit and listening to this podcast helps me feel connected to a degree, especially when it’s with shooters who took their careers to places I could only dream of. Based on Ninja's description of the civilian training, his approach, and your comments with him near Part 2's closing, I contacted Bob to inquire about training with him. Last weekend, my wife & I completed his "Situational Awareness, Mindset, & Emergency Preparedness" course. It was outstanding! We learned so many things that will help us in daily life and how to be prepared, without having to break the bank or going overboard, in case of man-made or natural emergencies. Concluding the "SA" portion of the course, Ninja unveiled some mind blowing findings. It was all fun and so appreciated Ninja's full personal engagement and humble approach. Rare for someone as accomplished as Bob is. Keep the great content coming.

Take a look at Terrence Popp and his show. He jumped into panama with the rangers and was wounded. Then he joined USSF. Then he was with Company F 425 of the michigan national guard where he was teamleader and platoon sergeant. With them he deployed to iraq where he became NCOIC of abu ghraib and then 1st sgt of his company and was wounded again (TBI). After that he stayed in the US military and did more than 30 years. Now he has a show on yt and other plattforms and saves people lives. His earlyer videos are about his time in the army and includes hard and funny side of it. His current count over 500 lives saved. The count is of people who came forward and said that he prevented them to go for a permanent solution for a temporaty problem. He talks about important stuff. Be aware he has no filter though.

I’ve watched a number of SRS interviews and Ninja projects a level of humility that in my opinion is rarely seen. His nonchalant recollection of all he has done cracks me up and hearing SR belly laugh at his experiences takes it off the charts. What an amazing journey he had to get into the community and I can’t wait to see part II. I’ve spent over 36 years, and still serving, in a U.S. Army uniform and this is the kinda guy you want to share a nice bourbon with around the fire pit and just listen to him talk! The level of gratitude and respect I have for all of these warriors is immeasurable and my thoughts and prayers go out to them all!

Ninja is so humble! I spent a year in Bosnia supporting Mass Grave Investigative Teams, Mine Clearing K9 teams and the UNHCR. It was a mess but a good deployment. We even worked along side the Russians, that was 5 yrs after the USSR fell. Good times.✌🏼

Great content as always, the Delta recruiting briefing brings backs some found memories. As a young SGT in 1983, they showed up at Fort Hood and in one of the post theaters gave their pitch. if memory serves me right everyone that was in a Combat arms unit in the 1st cav went to one of them. being in 1/7 Cav at the time and telling us about all the WALKING we would be doing, well none of us took the bait! But it was a diffent army back then, there was none of the High-Speed cool stuff of today, more like a map and a compass! but brings back some good memories

I was in Korea in 03 when the SF recruiters were letting our command inform us to be at the theatre if we were interested. I'm 17 and went down and the MSG told me when I have more experience and become of age to give him a call. By the time I was 24 I had 3 Iraq deployments and my body was broken. Just hearing Ninja's story about RIP, SFAS, deployment to Panama is crazy inspiring

Shawn, I've listened/watched dozens of your interviews and they are -for me - the Gold Standard for this genre of pods. Ninja was a fascinating listen and genuinely interesting cat. Many others have been badass Commandos that share great experience, but Ninja had a special way of telling the story with clarity, and relatable style. Easy top 5 interview and maybe top two. Loved both parts 1 & 2 We thank you both for serving and sharing.

It's hard watching other podcasts because you have set the bar so high and are genuine with your content. I know you said in the interview you did with your wife that you don't care how many views you get but it's sad when the operator ones get the most views, not saying they don't matter because they do, but so do the other ones on every day issues. More people should watch those. Excited to see what 2023 has in store.

I really enjoy your shows and watch them often. Mr. Bob "Ninja" Poras was delightful and full of wonderful knowledge. I never leave comments but this show is amazing. I truly appreciate Mr. Poras information on common sense and how it's often overlooked. Mr. Ryan; you ask amazing questions, allow the guest to really speak and you always appear that you honestly enjoy the guest. Your show is always full of amazing life stories, your involved with fantastic interest really listening to your guest. I find that absolutely wonderful. Just made it through the intro, you guys touched on something I've been thinking about a lot, how to maintain a prepared mindset without becoming paranoid. As an average civilian with a family, I also think a lot about how to balance defense training with daily life and how to prioritize different aspects of training. I've recently started shooting again and have gotten my wife into it, so we're at least able to spend quality time while also building skills that help with defense. I'd love to hear more discussion on this! Thanks again for the great content and glad to see you're succeeding with this
