Bob Racing (2004 On-Ride POV) - Skyline Park Germany

Bob Racing was a powered Wiegand Bobkart attraction that operated at Skyline Park in Germany between 2000 and 2020. It was approximately 700m long with a top speed of 40kph. Video features a complete on-ride POV filmed during the European Coaster Club's Colossal Coasterbahn tour in 2004.

That looks like a lot of fun! What an odd contraption though. I assume that spindly arm is the power connection for the bobsled.

That is indeed the power source...and yes, was a lot of fun. I haven't done many of these powered bobkarts but this was a good one

I was to ride this in Park City,Utah 30 years ago but it was closed that week.I was upset about it and they had some event in that area so it closed a week early.It's the only metal alpine slide in the USA.

Obviously this particular one was in Germany and is powered not gravity driven - most alpine slides are concrete or fibreglass - the metal ones are less common

@@davidjellis My younger daughter and her b f rode the alpine coaster here too a few years ago.As for this cement slide,we also rode one in Winter Park,CO and famous Atitash in N H.
