I don’t think the films being about Batman’s psyche discourages Robin, I actually think it makes Robin all the more necessary. Dick is the catalyst for Bruce’s evolution from a loner who thinks he can never love again to the leader and father figure we know he will become. I know we’ve gotten a bit of that character development with Alfred and Selina, but Dick would really force Bruce into a new mindset. We don’t need a full on Bat-family, but like Tim Drake points out in his origin, Batman needs a Robin. Otherwise he’ll always be limited emotionally, stuck in the darkness. It’s something I think has been severely lacking in live action takes of the character, and Reeve’s universe would be a great place to explore Robins affect on Batman and shake the stigma against him set on by real world drama. And if you read this, thanks for the videos, you provide a really great platform for discussion and hype without the toxicity of social media. It’s really refreshing.

The whole Robin thing is creepy, unless Batman sees Robin as his way to release Batman, in favor of embracing peace through Bruce Wayne. Robin needs to be Batman’s legacy - that would make sense - but also require an acknowledgement of Batman aging. Ultimately - for one of them to remain a passionate (twisted) crime fighter - the other must die. It’s very Shakespearean.

@@tytytherussianspy2778 I was thinking they could use Dick as an example for Bruce, showing him how to be a hero that instils hope in the people. Maybe have a scenario similar to that first fight except Robin successfully tries to calm down the kid or whoever. Keep the story very much about Bruce, but show how Robin positively effects him. Then towards the climax or you could give Dick parts of the classic Joe Chill/Batman encounter where Dick is furious and beating his parents killer. Bruce would see his own reflection in Dick, and vows to prevent him from going down the same path Bruce did. Ultimately give him a similar role to Catwoman’s, but more prevalent and with a father/son or older/younger brother relationship (depending on how old he would be).

I would love to see Jonathan Crane or Hugo Strange in the Arkham show and be the villain in the sequel. The Scarecrow from the Fear State story would be great. From his design and motive is something I can see Reeves do for the sequel. For Hugo Strange, I want to see that Batman obsession he has, like in Batman: Prey. In the Arkham show, he can do therapy sessions like the audio files in Arkham City. Get a one on one session with John Doe (Joker) and get some insight how he got caught during Batman's first year.

I would be shocked and annoyed if Strange was not a main, if not THE main villain. He’s always been abused in shows and games, relegating him to the scientist lackey of one secret society or another, rather than letting him be the manipulative mastermind that he is, motivated by a pure fascination of the human mind, and The Batman’s in particular. Of course Crane would be awesome as well, and I can totally see the two of them as the main villains of the story, with Strange allowing and enabling Crane’s activities for his own sick purposes as he uses the Asylum as a lab for studying his patients in disturbing ways.

I think it could be super interesting. Re your proposed watch party for The Batman. I'd be very into that, and I'm sure others will too... If at all possible, could it be on a weekend? Those of us O/S sometimes find ourselves in your live chats at horribly inconvenient hours of the day - that's fine for a weekend, but I can't realistically do a watch along at 5am Friday morning before heading to work... Obviously it's totally up to you and you need to prioritize your own needs there.. I just thought a weekend watch along might be more accessible for those of us who will be watching along at some ridiculous hour of the day :) Anyway, lovin your content... Ideas for the villains Killer croc (Full scaled body but has tattoos and embraced the name) Bane A mix from the Tom Hardy bane and Gotham bane with a comic inspired bane mask Mr Freeze Make him kidnap villains and freeze them in cold temperature cryo chambers and cryogenic gun that's grounded. Make him have a suit like Arkham city or telltale but practical. With poison ivy should she be sexualised like in the Arkham games with green skin or like Batwoman. My way is mutated plants should be her weapon in the grounded world

Great video! I still think Robin can work in movie 2 just how he was introduced in Dark Victory, the sequel to Long Halloween. In The Art of The Batman it was mentioned that the batsuit is “more of a prototype batsuit.. something that could evolve over time.” What kind of upgrades do you imagine being made? The book showed Bruce already has throwing batarangs, so those could be added.

The best way to do a proper Robin in my opinion, is to give him a mini tv series (like they're doing with the Penguin) after introducing him in part 2 of Batman (near the end, maybe there's a newspaper about the circus coming to town or something). Maybe, we get his backstory and how he met Bruce, fast forward a few months and he's sent by Batman to go out and do some recon and investigation work for him. Maybe Batman gets busy with another case and he entrusts Robin with finding clues about Falcone's dealings solo or something not too dangerous (like, investigating Joker's gang that are becoming a big deal). So, Pattinson only makes a few cameos in the early episodes and the finale. Wouldn't that make the 3rd and final movie having Robin actually make sense? It could be done even better than what I suggested but, you get the idea.

When I watched the movie I thought they had potential to hint at her showing up. Should have had selinas freind be Pamela instead of who we got. Have carmine kill her for the same reasons in the film but this time instead have him show up at her workplace/lab and attempt to kill her by chucking plante over her etc with a nice call back there to Batman and Robin. I think it would make sense also as you then can have that traditional friendship/chemistry between ivy and selina as they were freinds in this universe prior.

I hope they don't make this universe just like the real world and have alot of fantastical elements i think good acting and reactions of characters can make those elements believable in a way. What is cool about doing a whole separate universe just about Batman and his connections is there is alot to explore like the Court of Owls and the League of assassins and introducing characters like Raj, Talia, Nyssa, Deathstroke, Copperhead, Komodo, Cheshire, ect. In the Arkham series they could lean into the creepy side and have characters like Lady Arkham, Jonathan Crane, Calendar man, Victor Zsasz and Professor Pyg. They could introduce Harleen Quinzel and Hugo Strange. Then going into the crime lords they have Penguin, Roman Sionis, Tobius Whale, Ventriloquist, Two face, more of the Falcone family and Moroni. And then the Fantastical elements and characters like the Lazarus pit, Poison ivy, Mr.Freeze, Clayface, Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Man-Bat even Bat-Mite. Then they have the bat family Barbara Gordon, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, Kate Kane, ect. They could do so many story lines like Death in the family, a Gotham City sirens movie, Introduce another Black Canary and Green Arrow and hint that there are other heros like Flash and Superman but never show them. There's alot they could do with this universe if more creative people other than Matt Reeves could work on it.

Even after a month, still new metaphors and visual storytelling we can still pick up from. No superhero movie is like this. I’m a DC fanatic, especially a batman one. Going to the promise land, however Moses ( batman) is the only person who can’t see the promise land. To be honest, it drives me nuts how most of Batman’s most prominent enemies have no reason being in Arkham rather than Blackgate. I think it would be awesome if the Arkham series explores a little bit of why Gotham’s mental institution and legal system are so intertwined and messed up that Arkham ends up with half the psychopaths in the city regardless of their grip on reality.

It’s typically because explained as moreso a choice by batman, it’s not often elaborated about but more then that, but Batman sends them to the asylum hoping that they will treat and care for and rehabilitate his villains, whereas blackgate is typically a lock em away and throw away the key kind of institution

I feel like introducing Dick would only help to make a better sequel. I don't have a whole movie planned out, but like some scenes. First thing you hear is circus music, maybe some light flashing. And then whip cracks mixed with shouting (nightmares don't need to be realistic, throw some lines like "what, you were scared to tell anything? how did it end for you?"). Dick runs to Bruce's bedroom only to find it empty. Few hours later Bruce comes back home, finds Dick asleep on his bed. And then they have this talk, kind off pararels to the conversations Bruce had with Alfred in the first movie: D: why did you take me in if you're never here? B: because orphanages are overcrowded, they wanted to send you to juvie or some other sketchy place, I didn't want you to die there D: why do you care? You're not my father B: I'm not trying to replace him, I just want you safe. Later Bruce would keep catching Dick sneaking out, untill he would take off his cowl and be like "kid, I'm wearing this costume every single night, trying to bring you justice for your parents death, I can't do this, while worrying that you're on these streets alone at night" "So bring me with you. I want Zucco to pay for what he did"

Perhaps the mob killed her father before they left for metropolis? The story could be about her being consumed by her vengeance as Bruce tries to save her.

Hey Boba, love your videos! Really admire the level of detail you go to in every one ❤️ also love the idea of a watch party! Regarding Robin, I don’t feel like this Bat-Universe’s tone means that we won’t get a Robin character, but maybe they won’t have the exact same father/son dynamic as they traditionally do. Since Catwoman name-dropped Blüdhaven, I had a theory that what if they introduce Dick Grayson as Nightwing? He could already be established in Blüdhaven as a late teens/early 20s Nightwing who was inspired by Gotham’s Batman. He could come to Gotham in the next movie or maybe even the 3rd movie and act more as a crime fighting partner figure to Bruce as opposed to a full on sidekick. At the moment Bruce’s psyche is very much stunted as the emotionally scarred and broken child who’s stuck at his parents death and hasn’t been able to develop properly from that, when he puts on the suit all he’s doing is letting the anger out. Maybe this could be where Nightwing comes in and helps to bring Bruce out of that and shows him the more positive side of things and teach him ways to focus his energy on better efforts. In essence, he’d be the light to Bruce’s darkness, but not as a sidekick.

I want to see a version where the joker scene is cut back in. At this point we have all seen the movie and adding a scene that while in theater would have spoiled the pau off at the end. Now being on streaming I want the option to see it with the cut joker scene

So yeah it's great that we have all these plans but most of the stuff will probably wouldn't be in development until Robert Pattinson decides to come back or when Ben Affleck is done with Batman.. maybe there's some legal issues maybe we can't have two different films of two different actors playing Batman. Remember the same thing happened to Arabic couple years ago when Zack Snyder was working on development for the Deathstroke movie the CW explained that there were legal reasons that they had to remove Deathstroke from Arrow because of the Deathstroke movie.. then after the movie was canceled then we saw a new version of Deathstroke on Arrow from the 2040 timeline

I truly believe that the reason why Robin the boy wonder was created was to counter the Dark Knight's nature. I also notice that over the year look like they could be brothers' fathers by the same men. Yes, I remember that there was several female Robin also over the years too.DC Comics should release another special focus on the various Robin over the years.

I recently played The arkham knight game and there is a plotline where scarecrow shows off his fear gas to scare away most of the citizens and him along side other villains and criminals take over the city. I feel like this ploine could be (loosely) adapted in one of the future batman sequels or the penguin show but instead this could all take place because of the flood. I mainly want this because i think scarecrow is a really cool batman villain. What are your thoughts on this.

They could introduce robin (dick Grayson) and other characters perhaps they tease Gordon having a daughter at some point and they do spin off movies, perhaps a Nightwing movie, maybe in the third movie he's introduced and becomes robin and then in a spinoff called Nightwing it could show his journey to becoming Nightwing and he take the mantle halfway through or near the end.

Looking back at the comment that talked about Bruce Wayne’s play boy persona then going to become a philanthropist, I think reeves can explore that in the second or third (if there is a third) movie if he chooses Mr. Freeze as the main villain, seeing how he turned into a twisted villain after the unfortunately seeing his wife slowly die to a disease this could turn Bruce to follow more in his father’s footsteps and use his money to fix Gotham and help people in need like Mr. Freeze’s wife. What do you guys think?

I feel that if they don’t do Robin, then we’re really not doing anything all that new with Batman on film. All the “serious” Bat films (Burton and Nolan) have had an early days loner Batman with no Robin.

I think a sequel headlined by the Penguin & Mr. Freeze would be sick, I can see the Penguin spin off setting up his rise to power within the Gotham underworld, setting him up to be the Main villain Oz would be using Mr. Freeze for his own personal gain, all while Vic is set up to be a sympathetic villain who is being used in his mission to save his wife. Michael Fassbender or Mads Mikkelsen would be my top two choices, although there are plenty of great actors who would crush it in that role. It's best to keep the Joker in a minor role till the third film, where I'd imagine he'd be the main villain. He and the Riddler are responsible for the inmates breaking out of Arkham, and causing chaos in Gotham city. Can you imagine an Arkham City film? Its one of my favorite batman stories and video games of all time. A live action inspired film would be a dream.
