In The Art of The Batman it was mentioned that the batsuit is “more of a prototype batsuit.. something that could evolve over time.” The producer said he anticipates the sequel will have a time jump. The book showed concept art of throwing batarangs, so those could be added. Maybe the stitched cowl will be upgraded like you said.

I think the purpose of the Arkham and Penguin shows are to both give us content while we wait for the sequel while also building the world and showing the progression of time so the time jump to the sequel isn't a massive gap but instead filled in by these other projects, and It's a phenomenal idea

Matt reeves has given us the most realistic Batman ever! Robert Pattinson totally owns the character. I hope the sequel will be 3 hours long too. I enjoyed the length and the pace of the movie. Oz was probably the best penguin I have ever seen. For sure he'll step into the moniker of The Penguin in the next film. I wouldn't mind seeing Mr. freeze, or The Scarecrow. I'd prefer to see a character we haven't seen yet in a live-action movie. But regardless, I'm definitely going to be anxiously waiting for the next one. Great haircut Boba. Yeah, do not really see how the Court of Owls being the next logical villain. Mostly because it would be a very receptive plot as the first one. Love to see someone like Mr. Freeze, Clayface, or Hush being the next villain. Would love to see more Bruce and exploring more of the relationships regarding Bruce and Alfred, Bruce and Selina, Bruce and Penguin, and Bruce and Two-Face. Would be interesting to see more development regarding Bruce as a character. And it would be interesting to see how Matt Reeves deal with the detective side of Batman and make it different from the first one.

I have been saying this forever, but I really hope this trilogy focuses on Gotham's Corruption and the story behind Batman and Bruce Wayne. The sequel has everyone excited, but I really want to see a villain like Mr. Freeze uncovering the corruption within Wayne Enterprises or Gothcorp just to cure and save his wife. It would be interesting and give the character a more detailed version while still sticking to the story. I feel like most people also say that they really want Dick Grayson or Robin in the sequel, but I feel like it should be introduced in the second trilogy, while being teased in the third film as the final scene and cuts out to black much like what the first Batman movie did. I also would love to see characters like Maxie Zeus go up against Colin's Farrell's Penguin or maybe the Ventriloquist and Scarface. I agree with you Boba on the Penguin HBO Max series should focus on the power vacuum, the Arkham series should focus on telling and setting up a horror like aspect while also introducing on horror and the next Batman sequel should continue to focus on the corruption, while also continue to make Batman and Bruce Wayne sympathetic for the villain.

The Raimi trilogy took 2 years from Spider-Man to Spider-Man 2 and in my opinion is the best comic book movie sequel, if all works out nice I think we could have The Batman part 2 at christmas 2024. I’m making this comparison because I see Reeves having the same attitude towards Batman as Raimi had for Spidey. The tricky thing is that there is 2 TV series I would assume he is involved with, not sure how this could interfere with the making of the movie.

I recently played The arkham knight game and there is a plotline where scarecrow shows off his fear gas to scare away most of the citizens and him along side other villains and criminals take over the city. I feel like this ploine could be (loosely) adapted in one of the future batman sequels or the penguin show but instead this could all take place because of the flood. I mainly want this because i think scarecrow is a really cool batman villain. What are your thoughts on this.

Similar to how Bruce asked for Jokers help in Arkham with the riddler case, I think this could feature again but to a much larger extent. Could test Bruce's own morality vs how much he wants the best for the city. What do you think?

I think that would be with Freeze. Maybe when Batman learns the corruption of Gothcorp (it was teased before), and that Nora is still alive, he convinces Freeze not to kill Boyle and make him pay through the law (kinda like how he convinces Selina not to kill Falcone)

I’m praying for Mad Hatter as a main villain, not only would it be his first on screen appearance in a movie, but he could be so disturbing. I don’t think they’d go with some peoples ideas of what that character could be (having him be a child predator) even though that would be very interesting. But Batman investigating a string of missing girls (some maybe turn up dead) and encountering brainwashed henchmen protecting him would be a very interesting story. And it would really stress the fact that this Gotham is a genuinely sick place full of twisted people.

He could also work as a bridge for how far the rabbit hole goes (pun intended) like how he was utilised in Arkham City. If Reeves is going to keep the sequels grounded neo noir, I doubt we'll see any of the super-powered rogues gallery members. Mr. Freeze is the closest we'll get to fantastical, Scarecrow possibly as well if Matt decides to use him. I'm curious to see how he realistic he can make Mr. Freeze all while staying true to his character in terms of his weaponry. My vote for the villains for the sequel would be the Penguin as the main and Freeze as a secondary one like Two Face was in TDK. The theme of the film would be blue, and ideally set in the winter. Gotham in the winter would look so ominously beautiful.

Hey boba 👋🏼 As much as I’ve grown to love Pattinsons cowl I think it’d be good if it had a materials upgrade because he did take a few shots to the dome that knocked him out so I’d like to know what pre existing design you’d like to see him potentially get? Mines a mix of Lee Bermejos and Future state Batman. I like how protective future states looks almost completely metallic but the ears kinda suck and the side jaw and chin strap is a bit lame and I’d darken it a bit. I think it’d look great in the rain with all the lightning and reflections

100% agree with the release date being in 2024. If Matt takes a year to write the script like he did with the first one, the cameras should still be rolling by sometime in 2023 because Reeves said at Cinemacon that he is currently writing the script for the second film. The filming should only take 6-7 months so barring any huge delays, I don't see why it wouldn't come out in 2024. I think something most people aren't realizing is that Matt has been done with The Batman for awhile. He's probably been working on the script for the sequel for awhile.

I Read Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison again. I like Amadeus Arkham as a character and how him and Batman deal with their trauma differently. It'd be cool if a character in the Arkham show finds Arkham's diary like in the comic. I'm not particular about where Reeves goes with the second film just make it investing, shorter than the first and give us something unexpected (a grounded freeze would be great)

As interesting as the costuming and potential foils clearly are, I'm very curious to see where Robert takes Bruce Wayne in the now confirmed follow-up. Not just in the way he presents himself visually, or physically in terms of fitness, hairstyle, etc. but in how he interacts with those he comes into contact with out from under the cowl. My biggest criticism of the Nolan films was quite frankly, an at times wooden performance from Christian Bale. Obviously not everyone feels the same and I apologize if anybody takes offense to that. But there are distinct moments in TDK, as well as TDKR, where it almost felt hollow. Here is where Robert might distinguish his version of Bruce, injecting more of a sense of humanity and depth to this iteration having already exhibited a powerful version of a doggedly determined, on the brink, at least partially broken young Master Wayne with his first outing.

@ Boba Talks and Community, GREAT VIDEO, as ALWAYS!!!! I'm totally hyped for the sequel. I knew there would be. I'm a firm believer in "IF it's not broke, do NOT fix it." I'm totally fine if the batsuit primarily stays the same, maybe fix the cowl a little bit to make it more menacing and scary, maybe a little longer cape, and EVENTUALLY having a traditional bat logo on his chest, and implementing the batarangs, like his current bat logo that's detachable from his chest plates, that could be a great prototype for an actual batarang, make it fold down and he could carry several in his utility belt, and make the bat blades for the gauntlets metal or steel like the other gauntlets, but leave EVERYTHING ELSE the exact same. Maybe by the end of The Batman 2 or beginning of The Batman 3, he could have a brand new suit, no longer a prototype suit, but an actual perfected batsuit like the Batman arkham games and / or other movies, where the pants are no longer tactical bdu pants but actually padded and / or some combat armor on the legs, or, just have plates of armor sewn into the tactical pants, outside or inside. They REALLY NEED to stay away from other style of batsuits that have already been used in the movies. Keep the suit ORIGINAL, and the bat logo on the chest that is detachable, make that into batarangs, but have that as the exact logo for the chest, just add the ears, like The Batman logo on posters, they kept the same design but just added the ears. That's GREAT!!!! I really CANNOT see mr. freeze or poison ivy being used in any sequels because, one, we already had them, and two, it's just too sci-fi, and three I just think it wouldn't be done correctly, or too difficult to be done correctly to make it believable. The whole bane thing with the venom, that could work in a grounded, simplistic way like you said, basically like just an adrenaline rush that lasts a long time, but even that could become too sci-fi if not careful. However many movies Director Matt Reeves decides to make, whether a trilogy, or 5 movies, or 7 ... would be GREAT, but I really think he should keep the same tone and vibe throughout the ENTIRE SERIES, detective noir driven, incorporate some horror elements, and of course action packed, bringing out Batman's fighting style and martial arts, use of his gadgets and other gadgets, but DEFINITELY KEEP the suspense, thriller, mystery, horror tone and vibe throughout the ENTIRE SERIES. I could see jonathan crane / scarecrow, mad hatter, hush, dr. hugo strange, of course along with the penguin, selina kyle / catwoman, the riddler, the joker, being in the sequel series, but they should keep the psychological thriller and suspense elements, keep us guessing, elements of having time limits in solving things, cat and mouse, etc. They could also throw in two face and black mask eventually, dead shot, and some of these characters could be more than one character. The danger is going the other direction too much or completely and becoming the exact opposite of what we go in Matt Reeves The Batman. The character of gotham city, how Matt Reeves presented the city, was a character ALL to itself, like people were afraid to go into the dark shadows of alleys or inside buildings at night. Batman said "I am the shadows," so for ALL of the punks and thugs that know of or have met Batman, they'd be terrified to enter a dark building or alley and they go the opposite direction. I loved that in the movie. They need to keep that central theme, dark, gritty, scary, like at any given time something could jump out of the darkness or shadows. I HOPE, however many movies Director Matt Reeves does, leads eventually to the court of the owls and the talon assassins. It's already been teased in The Batman with the one card and gill colson hinted at it when he said how deep and high the corruption goes before he was killed, so scared that he'd rather die than talk about it. That needs to get fleshed out and played out, IF not in The Batman 2, then DEFINITELY The Batman 3 or 4, and each sequel, Batman could learn more elements and truths of the corrupt secret society, discovering bread crumbs, if you will, connecting the dots, putting 2 and 2 together to get 4, and putting ALL of the pieces of a big puzzle together to get the whole big picture. The sequels eventually have got to lead to that at some point. Robert Pattinson and one or two others themselves have stated they'd like to do a court of the owls for a sequel. It doesn't have to be for The Batman 2 but DEFINITELY The Batman 3, 4, or 5, ... However many movies Matt Reeves wants to do, it might be best to make the court of the owls the very last movie, but each sequel he discovers more about the secret society, their history, who's involved, why they control gotham, etc. That has got to be fleshed out and played out at some point. I loved the relationship and how close Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon and Batman were, their professional relationship, like they are actual REAL partners in solving cases and crimes. I loved that. PLEASE KEEP THAT!!!! PLEASE also KEEP Bruce Wayne being the way he was in The Batman, NOT the playboy alcoholic. We've seen way too much of that. KEEP him as the secluded, solitude, isolated type, staying to himself and his closest allies, and CONTINUE PLEASE where we see him mostly in the batsuit throughout the ENTIRE movies. We never get enough of him in his batsuit, and in Matt Reeves The Batman, he's in the batsuit 90 % of the time. PLEASE keep the drifter mode of Bruce Wayne, too, for when he's incognito choosing his targets.

They already seemed to be hinted in this movie when DA decided to off himself instead of telling who rat out Marroni which to me hinted at Court having a part in it and Falcone being a their high member. Also Hush considering the Elliot thing and HUSH money. Could be great transitional movie for Battinson where he develops his Bruce persona to get into the Court (or something else) and Batman finally faces off against someone who is equally capable in terms of skill and strength. For the Batman 2 I’m hoping for a lot of villains. Mr. Freeze is the driving antagonist but while looking for Freeze Batman fights Killer Moth who works for a more powerful Penguin. Hugo Strange a Falcone-like figure who Freeze is trying to get revenge on for causing Freeze’s accident and Batman must stop Freeze from killing while also bringing Strange to justice. Also maybe Firefly could work for Strange.

What I want to know is, where the hell is all of the bonus content going to fit in The Batman's 4K/Blu-ray release?? The images and descriptions show only 2 discs. It's a 3-hour movie, and you can't just jam the extras on the same disc! We have 1 4K movie disc, 1 Blu-ray movie disc, then what?? The extras need their own disc, WB!!!

My favorite villains are Scarecrow and Bane, but I'm afraid we won't see either of them. Bane was so recent and Reeves can't do him in the third film cuz Nolan did that. But I'm reading Batman Knightfall right now, and I want that intelligent but venom pumped Bane that releases all of arkham to weaken the Bat. Freeze is my third favorite, and I would be just as happy getting to see that character get a fair shake.

Maybe Selina will come back and be introduced to Bruce and not Batman which I think would be good. There was something of this nature done in The Batman (2004). To add on maybe the timeline of releases won't be as long as the first, maybe Matt already knows how he wants it done prior to when he was filming the first one. He just needs the cast, script, and then they can start filming.

Hey Boba! Just wanted to share my thoughts on the sequels with u & get ur opinion. I think that the identical twin bodyguards at the Ice Berg Lounge might go on to join Two Face in the 3rd film as Min & Max or perhaps Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum with the Mad Hatter in the 2nd.I definitely think that they’re gonna introduce Harvey Dent as the new DA after Riddler killed Gil Coulson in the sequel and have him get in some accident that causes half of his face to get all jacked up but i don’t think theyll rlly do the whole Two Face thing till the third. I think the sequel will be a Hush film & that it’ll end with a sorta No Man’s Land set up with all the bridges collapsing isolating Gotham & I also think that for some sorta distraction Hush is gonna blow up a part of Arkham, injuring Harvey (causing the whole two face thing for the next film) and releasing all the Arkham inmates (specifically Riddler & Joker) So that in the third film, Batman has to deal with Riddler, Joker, Hush, Penguin, Two Face, (maybe Mad Hatter) and they’re all stuck on an isolated island

If you’re right about 2024, then maybe it can be more than a trilogy. Maybe August-October 2024, March-June 2027, if there’s a 4th & possibly more, the 4th could be around December 2029-February 2030

Boba: love your content, as always, as you have shepherd us through this almost five-year journey. A friend of mine has suggested that perhaps Mayor Mitchell's son could be Robin. Initially, I was not too keen on this, but I have a rough idea and I would love your thoughts. The only way I could see this working, would be if Mitchell's son views his father as this tarnished and, for a lack of better saying, bad person. So, maybe his mother's maiden name is Grayson and in an attempt to give himself a clean slate, he changes it to that; his first name would be Richard, obviously, and since Mitchell's son's name was not mentioned during the movie, this could theocratically work. I would prefer for Dick to be introduced, "normally" but I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. Again, love your content, good sir!

In my idea world, Chapter 2 would be about Mr. Freeze, Dick Grayson would be introduced. Victor's love story with Nora influences the next chapter. Chapter 3 would be a mixture of the Mask of the Phantasm with Court of Owls (Or scrap the Court part of it) Natalie Dormer would be my phantasm because her work past GOT has been great. As we know, Mask of the Phantasm is a tragedy, but by the end of the film, Batman finally becomes the hero we know him as and Dick finally becomes Robin. I also really, really want Hugo Strange. He would e the perfect fit for the universe. If not in Chapter 3, he could easily appear in the Arkham show.
