If you ever was a Bobbi Brown customer you know when shift happened in the company’s direction. The last foundation I purchased from her line was several yrs ago. BB always had a huge range of complexion hues but this particular foundation was new to the market and she refused to release the hues meant for women of color until they got formulation right. That was her making sure her brand continued to meet the want her customers expected out of her line. Once the company started selling the line out of Sephora I new she wasn’t as much involved like she was.

Chris Harrison I still buy the brand but only the items that I know she introduced. I have noticed new gimmicky item, particularly lipsticks which are totally out of keeping with the original line. Fortunately I am so familiar with what went before I am able to do this. I can foresee a time, though when so many changes are made to the brand that this might not longer be possible. Yes. She was THE make up artist of the 90s whom turned that horrible overdone 80s look, out and over. It was the backlash in over the top 80s and alongside her, was the minimalist look by Calvin Klein. They were hand in hand in creating the monochromatic look.
@CarolCreates5 жыл бұрын
Yes she did 🙂 I remember when her makeup came out. Suited all skins. Her lipstick was the only one that worked for me. At the time department stores NEVER catered for deeper skin tones. Especially in UK/Europe. Also BB makeup didn’t give me an allergic reaction. Not perfumed.

Estee Lauder is a mega corporation that often does buyout of competitors they see gaining on them in terms of market share if they can get you cheap before you really hit SUPER big competitor status they feel they have won. Sometimes they continue the acquired brand, sometimes they shut it down as Coca Cola has done with popular soft drinks in other countries....that is how business works. Not defending it but reality is a reality...they will take you out one way or another. She sounds like she regrets having ot so it their way and that seems to be the story of entrepreneurs who stay on for awhile. It becomes something NOT them. BTW I didn't hear her b*(^$*ing or whining.

@LuvBytes075 жыл бұрын
Educate yourself before posting uninformed rants. She never had any control or say over which territories her brand was sold in once owned by the Estee Lauder group. The higher ups, which actually owned the brand on paper not her, had her products sold in China. She sold her company to them in the mid 1990's because she lacked in certain skills needed to run a business and unfortunately you give up certain freedoms once you sell to major corporations.
