We bob the bed of our 1973 K20 long box square body Chevy. We cut 13 1/2 inches out of the rear of our long box. I also picked up a used set of 37x13.50x17" tires and a set of wheels and through the on there too. #chevy #k20 #4x4 #4x4build #offroad #bobbed #squarebody #gmc #k10

Being a wheeler I like the look of a bobbed bed. I have a 2wd longbed I am thinking of bobbing. Not a fan of shortbeds though. So it will stay long like god intended. lol

TBH, why go to all the work to let it deteriorate faster? I say compromise. Fix the wheel arches and other rust spots after doing the shortening work, and do a Rustoleum paint job. Roller or spray and color is dealers choice. JMHO

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I had originally planned on doing a restoration on this pickup, rust repair and all, but also wanted an off road rig. My thoughts were to save all of the time and money it would cost to make it pretty and just build an ugly truck that I don’t have to worry about scratching. Sometimes things can be so ugly, they actually become cute🤣. Thank you for watching and I will consider your recommendations.

Lookin' tuff! You really should take some 100grit on the DA to the inset panel front to back, and then hose that raw metal down to rust. I just love that orange-y rustina in the front fender insert, be awesome (and really pay off the "Decay" concept!) to make it match the rest of the way through.

Thanks my friend. I’ll look into doing that after I get everything else done. I still have a few more things to do to it. Thanks for watching and for sharing your ideas.

😂 well I was going to comment that it was kind of a waste of time when you can just buy new sides and kind of color match what is there😂. Then after just seeing that it would cost over $1200 just for the sides, makes more sense to just fix what is there and then kind of patch what is needed. It's sad how the price has doubled in just right at 5 years on prices. I had a 1968 GMC that i had 5 years ago and was looking at prices.😢 just sad how they are jacking the prices up.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. Things have really become overly expensive, especially over the last few years😡. We’re just going to save money where we can and live with the rust🤪. DIY projects are becoming a more practical way to go nowadays more time and less money. Keep your chin up my friend😜. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

@@Farm10customs DIY is always the best way to go. Im looking for a mid 2000's truck now that i can convert it all back to old school. Basic engine and transmission. I'm just done with these computers amd sensors. Wish I woild have never sold my 1968 GMC truck now 😆.
