Tall Bob may be interested to investigate the drug Etanercept! It is injected into the spine (perispinal etanercept) and the patient is tipped backwards to encourage the drug to enter the brain. It is being used for stroke patients and there are trials of the drug for the purpose of helping stroke patients and there has been some miraculous results. The drug is also a possible treatment in people with Long Covid. I wonder if it would Bobs ataxia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5-opYRjjN2el9U

I'm so glad you two are still filming! Showing that aphasia doesn't mean you withdraw from society is a powerful message and Bob, you will literally change some people's lives or maybe even save them. I'm not exaggerating. Your mind is full of knowledge to share and we're here for it!
@smokeyangelav2 жыл бұрын
I agree. It's sad they have to put that message at the beginning. I had a brain tumor removed and had aphasia. They basically removed me from a lot of my duties (I was in training for the management position) even though my brain was working just fine. I just couldn't get words out unless I wrote them and it was temporary as I healed. I would get in trouble for emailing and cc'ing people instead of talking directly to them. Unfortunately I live in an at will state so it's not illegal.

Your videos have helped me so much, because not a day goes by where I'm not trying to stretch, strengthen, get something to release, etc. It never ends. One thing I know after my 40+ years on this planet as a disabled person is that all branches of medicine are pretty darn ableist, and medicine-- especially the rehab disciplines benefit so much from the presence of disabled providers. The best SLP and the best OT I know both have CP as well. They understand disability and rehab with an entirely different depth. We need you and your expertise here. I think your dx is new. It's a gutpunch-- I'm no Pollyanna. But I hope you keep doing videos and sharing your wisdom and expertise with us and with your patients. We need you in the rehab space so badly.

Absolutely, I replied, I have episodes of not being able to extend to an upright position when exiting my vehicle. It's as though my Pelvis and lower back are "locked" I call it a "catch". Once I rotate my hip a few times I hear a loud "click" & I'm able to move freely. In a standing position, if I march in place, the click can be heard each time my left knee is raised. You two are my go -to both for self diagnosis and self-treatment. today not sure my issue is my SI joint, but sure sounds like it from the description of where the pain manifests. Your first test (on an another session) does tend to point that way. But I just can't pop it or move it or make walking comfortable. I will try again tomorrow (I know, if it hurts don't do it). Thanks

Thank you for sharing. I’ve had episodes of bad SI pain the last few years. I’m always looking for different ways to stretch and relieve SI problems.
