Question - The NIH has some studies out now which support using tens units for reduction of extremity swelling and lymphadema. Can you please address how to go about using it for that. My husband has had surgery closing off some older overrelaxed veins which were causing excess fluid and lymphadema in his legs and feet, he is very healthy for 82, just old veins, and he walks 4-5 miles every morning. The surgery has helped some, but this tens approach seems to offer additional help and improvement. Thank You

I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 2 and have a love/hate relationship with my TENS. Sometimes it helps other times it just makes the nerves angrier than what they were, to begin with. I wonder if there is a benefit using an EMS for muscle spams that we tend to get with CRPS.

Friend, have you tried INF in combination with EMS? RS medical has a device called RS -4i+ that you can perform both. The INF stops pain before it goes up to the brain and tapes into your natural opiates for pain...the TENS is just a sensory device and Subject to skin resistance

Pain medication, what's that? 🤣 I don't know any Dr that gives those anymore. Good video though. More helpful than the last one I just watched. 👀 I think I need to use it for both because my muscles are also pretty non-existing due to lack of use over the years with chronic pain. What do you think? I'm going to also check with my insurance before buying one.

For the tens machine, does it help heal the muscle so the pain reduces over time permanently? Or is it just a temporary bandaid or just reduce pain temporarily?
@LivingTithe
@LivingTithe 8 ай бұрын
TENS is temporary sensory relief. Look into the RS -4I through Rs medical as it has both NMES and INF to tap into both muscle contraction and actual long term pain relief by stopping the pain signal and releasing natural, internal opiates within your own body

I was wondering if the EMS would help me with my calves which have atrophied from years of neuropathy. I had a back Op in 2018 which cured the pain in my legs. I am using a rebuilder unit to help rebuild the nerves. Would EMS help with the strengthening of the calf area?
@NicolasDam
@NicolasDam 2 жыл бұрын
I have the exact same question David. I also have an atrophic calf because of a disc hernia I had four years ago which damaged the nerve. Did you try EMS after all? Also, what is a rebuilder unit? First time I hear of it.
@davidbjelic1975
@davidbjelic1975 2 жыл бұрын
@@NicolasDam The rebuilder is similar to a tens machine except you place your feet in a foot bath tub and place an electrode pad in each side of the divided foot bath tub. The control box allows you to adjust the electrical pulse which you can feel pulsating from your feet up through your calf. It is timed for a half hour session. I got it through my neurologist. It doesn't work for everyone. You might ask your neurologist if he offers in office tis. This way you can decide if its for you or not.

@@monicadimos1844 I don't truly know. My guess is it would depend on wether the pain was joint related or nerve damage related. You should consult with your Dr or physical therapist.

I can answer to this. EMS units are NOT adviced to use with pacemakers. They work with different frequency, but there's still a risk. But you can try to use other ways to activate your passive nervous system in order to reduce pain. Sincerely, Tero Mutikainen, EMS coach, MyEMS Fitness, Finland

Seemed clear for me. Long shot but are you listening on a Huawei phone by any chance? I've noticed my old Mate 20 Pro sometimes used to mess up stereo interpretation on certain videos so in a certain orientation (sometimes landscape, sometimes portrait) it would only play background sound through loudspeaker and speech through phone speaker so it sounded really muffled. Fix was to turn the phone around. Bit of a specific problem but thought I'd share just in case
