Robin grew up in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, for part of his youth, and had returned to live in the same county just before his death. He's very beloved in the Bay Area, and the tunnel just past the Golden Gate Bridge was renamed for him and the arch of the tunnel painted with a rainbow.

I think it's a very important point to make that Robin Williams had one of the worst cases of Lewy Body dementia that the pathologist who performed the autopsy had ever seen. He did not take his life because he had lost hope or was severely depressed. This is close to my heart, because my Dad developed Lewy Body just before he died. My Dad never had any mental illness. About two months before he died, he was bowling, golfing, living alone, mowing the lawn, kicked my ass in table tennis. Six weeks later, he was laying on the kitchen floor, while his legs were still "walking", speaking word salad. He hallucinated. By the time he died, not only had he mainly forgotten who we were, but he'd forgotten how to walk, and forgot how to SWALLOW. It was a horrible, horrible death. It's a disease that is somehow associated with Parkinson's, which we realized my Dad had had, but he staved off the worst of the symptoms through being very physically active, so it had gone unnoticed up until the end. I will tell you quite frankly that Robin William's death was less tragic than it could have been. I have seen the end stage of this disease. Williams's wife has gone on to work on promoting research into this disease. She wrote a very enlightening and lovely letter here in a neurology journal: www.neurology.org/doi/10.1212/wnl.0000000000003162 called "The terrorist inside my husband's brain". I recommend it to anyone who has pondered his death. I try to relay this info when it comes up, because so many people were rocked by his death. His death was really tragic, but what breaks people's hearts is thinking that he was in mental anguish when we were watching and laughing or relishing in his performances. He did have some struggles, but his death is not what so many people think.

I didn't know that. Can't understand why. All the pointless information that gets shoved in our face every day, especially about celebrities, but this I never heard. Thank you so much for sharing that, shines a whole new light and I'm so sorry for what your Dad, yourself and all your family and friends went through. ✌❤

@@taniaPBear It's understandable or at a minimum inevitable. It was news to people when he died. But the people involved didn't realize fully about his Lewy Body Dementia until the autopsy. You know how the media is and viewer attention span is - it was reported here and there, but just didn't make the big splash that his initial death made. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your condolences.

Bobby McFerrin inherited a right smart of talent. His father Robert McFerrin, the baritone, became the first African-American man to sing at the Met. (In Aida and in the title role in Rigoletto, mind you.)

Just something to think about. Robin Williams had a stunning career and life . He was loved around the world, sadly he developed a brain disease that caused him unbearable pain and he ended his life. I don’t think that’s what he would want us to focus on, me I remember his comic genius and his incredible kindness. That is his legacy

We had the radio on at work. When this song came on, we would sing along. It drove our supervisor crazy. She thought it was some kind of a plot against her. 😂 Just made more of us sing along loudly.

So, I got a joke gift when I was a teenager. It was one of those singing, dancing fish on a plaque. The song it would sing and dance to was Don't worry be happy. That's all I think about when I here this now and it makes me smile.

Thank you for your wonderful reaction to this classic video. You immediately recognized the clown Robin Williams (understandably) but you probably did not know the other clown was Bill Irwin. Bill never got the fame which Robin did, but IMO his physical comedy was better. I first noticed him in a standout minor roll in the movie _Popeye_ (1980), which starred Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall.

I know this is one of Bobby McFerrin's most popular and well-known songs (along with "I Can See Clearly Now) but I've always thought of him as a master of the voice as an instrument as well as an amazing improviser across musical genres. Here he is live at the Montreal Jazz Festival with Jorane (a Quebec cellist/vocalist): kzbin.info/www/bejne/haO0dGSvibRjg7csi=6ketJ3CRMUHCJLgV And a live performance of Vivaldi's Concero in G minor for 2 Cellos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6GTaoKGe8t9mJosi=tYP2EVutj-oMzCyv (McFerrin also did a record of classical pieces together with Yo-yo Ma.)

Nice reaction! I was like you 15 years ago. I had heard parts of it, but had never heard the whole thing until then. It amazed me to learn he created this entirely himself, using just his vocal chords. I usually gloss over the lyrics. I sing along, without thinking much about them. So, I got the main jist of the song before, but you helped me listen more closely and understand it better!

Hey Saeed, That's always been my philosophy in life be happy first and foremost and everything else will fall into place, be happy with what you have, some people have far less. I love those kinds of coincidences! Robin Williams was a one of a kind, we were lucky he touched our lives! My glass is always half-full! I always stay until the end, I see you go from sometimes feeling down to feeling better by the end of the video, this was one of those times. I hope whatever is troubling you isn't too serious, if it is don't be afraid to ask for help! Deb

As a fellow fan of Robin Williams, perhaps you'll get a kick out of a thought I had years ago. You are aware of Williams' amazing improv, I'm sure. Imagine Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, George Carlin, Eddie Murphy and Jim Carrey in a comedy movie together... You know, give them a simple plot with some general scenarios and then just roll the cameras! BTW, if you ever get a 'bee in your bonnet' to react to some comedy, my recommendation is for some George Carlin. Specifically, his comedy albums of the 70's & 80's, perhaps the early 90's. I still loved his comedy after the early 90's, but he certainly became more curmudgeonly and unless you were a longtime fan, it could be a bit much. 😏😁
@SaeedReacts.
@SaeedReacts. 3 сағат бұрын
That would have been an epic movie 😄. I have watched quite a few video's of George Carlin over the years and even rewatched a lot of them. Modern Man comes to mind. I definitely get what you mean about his comedy changing 😄. A lot of truth in what he was saying though. But I would love to explore more comedy as well. That would warrant a second channel perhaps.
