Love these Mutt Lange videos! I've been working on a Def Leppard-esque tune the past month or so, and between the drums tricks, background vocals and others tricks, it's helped immensely capturing that classic sound.

Great breakdown on the snare layering. Been trying 2 or 3 different snares in the mix depending if the vocals are on top or guitars and chorus are. Been surprised lately on how much changing a bass guitar plugin on the mostly right side changes my frequency mix on the left guitar side. Using less reverb on snare these days. Learning a lot here on your channel. Keep posting more on opening space in the mix for better balance between instruments and frequency balance. Trying to learn more about cupping. Many plugins sound great by themselves on the instrument or vocal but they then get buried in the mix and lose detail. Thanks for this.

Great video, Bobby. It may seem like a minor detail but that snare sound absolutely makes a huge difference. Def Leppard's Adrenalize is the perfect example.
