My mother taught me the simple basics of crocheting. Up until watching your videos I was only able to make very simple blankets and scarves occasionally changing color. With your help I have now made this flower along with bows and beanies and leg warmers. I am having so much fun watching your videos and crocheting along with you. Thank you so much for bringing new life to this craft that I'm so addicted to!

Used this pattern to teach a ten year old future crocheter. She needed a 4h project. So once she learned all the stitches she wanted to learn a flower. I think this is one of the easier ones to teach and it makes a lovely flower.

Hi Girl-- I've just learned how to make a beautiful, full, open rose, thanks to your tut. I had learned earlyer, how to make a tight rose, beautiful, but not as "rosey" as yours, thanks, I'll be useing your rose to send to anyone who needs a "rose' "I love you', pick me up-- Thanks, I am 74 years old, and take time for me every once in a while, to connect with my girls who I don't get to see very much, Thanks-- we all work,

There are honestly no words that I can say to express how I feel after just making my 1st flower ever. I've been making plain ear warmer / headbands and I decide to try a flower for them to give them more life, and OH MY, I am on cloud NINE!!! They look like something from a magazine, I still cannot believe that I did THAT! Thank you SO much Clare, you are awesome. Please never stop teaching us how to crochet well! It was clear, precise, so easy to follow. The color was ok for me to follow because that's the color I made MINE, hmmm... Life has new meaning to me now, lol, thx to you & crochet - I have health issues that make me barely able to do much of anything, crochet has put new breath into my life as good therapy.

Thanks for the demo. - very comprehensive and easy to follow. I have a hint for threading wool into your needle - fold the wool over the needle and grip between thumb and forefinger close to the needle. Slip the needle out keeping hold of the little loop you now have. Thread this loop through the eye and pull through. A trick I learnt as a child, which was several decades ago. Cheers.

I love the way you always show the steps in a slow, clear, concise manner, with detailed explanations (especially for those of us who are less experienced). However, I agree that better lighting is necessary for video, and lighter color yarn would be preferable for demonstration. Thanks again!
