Thanks you so much for this very easy to follow video. I've just knitted a plain, dark red, sweater and wanted something to finish it off. Thanks to your video, it is now sporting a big, black flower, which makes it look very designer-ish. I couldn't make head nor tail of written instructions.

Hi Clare, your nails are ever so lovely! I initially found your videos because of your turquoise/aquamarine colored nails, and then was "hooked" on your videos because you are the very best crochet teacher. But I am so particular about my own nails, that even if a great teacher had terrible nails I could not watch their tutorials. Its very nice that you keep them so pretty, its part of the visual in whole. :)

First off, I LOVE these tutorials! Thank you. When making this dahlia, I found that a chain 60 cm long was way too long... I ended up with something that looked like a pink pinecone. I found that 30 cm was just right, and the finished product looked like your flower.

I also began sewing my flower petals together from the outside in, as that is where my yarn end was from crocheting the petals. This resulted in my yarn and needle ending up in the centre of the flower, and I was able to add a small button to the middle without having to cut the yarn more than once..
