This pattern would lend itself nicely to incorporating the difficult-to-use fun yarns as the single crochet accent rows. It would add texture as well as color. In fact, this pattern is very versatile as a stash buster. Thank you so much for the excellent explanations.

Clare, The more I look at this shawl the more I love it. As soon as I get these last Christmas orders out the door, I am going to relax kick back, and work this in 2 ply yarn. Don't know why but have been on a 2 ply kick lately. I think it will come out beautiful as well..
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
Hello Val, Hope you are coming to the end of your crochet orders so you can kick back and relax with your crochet and not have any pressure

Wouldn't that be great?? LOL. Am looking forward to only be focused on this weather calendar blanket. I have all the zip lock bags and all the yarn ball labels marked with the temperatures. So I can start that on the 1st. Is not even winter here yet, and we have had -40 degree cold and snow, I think this blanket will have a lot of blues and purples in it this winter. But that shawl is so inviting can't wait to start on that as well... PS Hope your Holidays will be stress free, and you have a great time with your family!!!

I used this pattern using Lion Brand "Shawl-In-A-Ball" yarn, in Community Coral, and it turned out beautifully! I am going to make more in the various colors available for my daughters for one of their Christmas gifts! I would highly recommend trying that yarn for this pattern. Very light, lacy and versatile. I used a 6.00mm/J hook. Thanks so much.

Morning, great video, was looking for something easy and this is the one. What is the purpose of the single crochet rows? Just to show more color or does it actually change the look of the shawl? I'm using some self striping / cake type yarn and wonder what the benefit of the single crochet rows would be using this type of yarn...Comments from anyone appreciated. Thx
