Thanks for your tutorial, you make it look so easy. I haven`t crocheted in years but you have inspired me to take it up again. So I will start on your headband tomorrow,my two granddaughters would love it. Recently I saw a young woman wearing a black turban which had a twist in the centre, it looked great. I would love to find a pattern like it but I think it was knitted. I would like to hear from anyone who could help me with that idea. In the meantime I can try out your pattern. Thanks again.

Just finished making this! It's turned out a little wide because I used yarn that was too thick, but I've learnt my lesson and it still looks good. I figure I can just sew it in a bit if the width bothers me. Thanks for great tutorial!
@CrochetwithClare12 жыл бұрын
I discovered this trick recently myself after much frustration of my head bands stretching also. I have another headband tutorial and i will sent it to you ..... It has a method of slip stitching around the out side of the finished headband and i found that it stops it from stretching :)

Just made me one and I love it! Thanks for all the awesome videos!
@cami00rene12 жыл бұрын
What I do after folding the headband like a paper fan, is I tie some yarn around it, so I don't have to hold it in place when I'm sewing the rectangular thingy around it. The rectangular thingy covers it anyway, so nobody will ever now, it's more comfortable than holding the whole thing and trying to thread the needle and sew and all that. Great idea for a headband by the way, thank you very much for the tutorial :)

the chain three at the end of each row was creating a huge hole so I switched to a chain two which made it not as noticeable. i'm still in the middle of making this and I have a feeling this kind of ear warmer is going to work better for me personally. I love your tutorials. keep up the great work Claire!

you can chain more for the beginning chain...you probably have a tight stitch, meaning you crochet tightly so chaining more would help make the piece longer. What she did in the video was good for her head and preference you can change it to accommodate your crocheting.
@PreciousMe13 жыл бұрын
So funny! I just designed and made one of these 2 days ago (by accident - I was designing a hat and noticed the band I made would make a good headband or earwarmers) Made it in some fluffy baby material and it looks like fur. Need to take a pic and post to your facebook. Great minds think alike - lol LovelyTutorial! Hugs xx Eva

Hi bobwilson...I just want to make a suggestion for your videos: tell the hook size before you begin the tutorial I would also suggestion that you put yarn size, brand and hook size into the text below the video. I think that would help people to work the tutorial correctly. That's all...I love your videos I watch them even if I'm not working the tutorial :) I love your accent to!!

I am trying to learn again after over 20 years. I can't seem to get past learning the chain stitch :( I'll just keep watching, hopefully I'll catch on. I wish I could find a detailed video on what size needle to use with which yard, perhaps that's my trouble. I have a hard time keeping up with the counting stitches. I won't quit, but I'll be the snail in the bunch! Thanks for all the videos!
@MediocreMolly7 жыл бұрын
JD Smith I use the recommended needle size on the yarn itself, and make a small granny square to check the tension and to see if I need to use a different hook. Usually I go smaller than the knitting needle size recommenddd. If you google "how to find the right hook size" you'll come across blogs and informative websites on what you're looking for. I tend to just go by eye, and what I am looking for (how big the gaps are, like for a bear I was smallest gaps possible but for a headband I don't mind bigger gaps)
