Finally! Someone made a Cape tutorial that looks just right for a first timer! Thanks Claire! been dying to make a cape!

I love it! Especially the sleeves. This is great!! I love that you tell what yarns can be used. So often I feel like videos are trying to sell the yarn “ it can only be made with...”. As we all know, with hook adjustments many patterns can be made with other yarn.

Love it Clare! I have a cape already made but thought it looked too plain.....I love your idea of adding the scarf to it! it's the final touch my cape needs...Thank you!

Joanie Parker I made a cute collar and added it to the cape I made for my cousin's toddler. the collar had two rows of popcorn stitches which made for a cute detail and made it thicker/warmer!

This is an awesome tutorial - I will add a hood and longer length to it. I live on top of a mountain - and the longer the better here.
@wendelynyoung86098 жыл бұрын
WOW you read my mind. I've been looking for just this cape. It will be perfect for office wear. All the capes I've seen had the neck low and go over the head not what I am looking for. But yours is perfection😘😘😊👌🏿👌🏿

if I were to make this cape longer. how could I put armholes or arm slits n the pattern? love the pattern
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
I would crochet up to the point in the row you want the slits, then turn your work and work back across, keep doing that until the slit is big enough. Then you will have to rejoin your yarn back to where you started the slit, and complete the other side of the cape and adding in the second slit If you want it to be solid at the bottom( dont want slits all the way down) When you have the slits complete and its all equal length, you can rejoin yarn and start of row and then crochet all the way across Hope that makes sense and isnt too confusing

How would u be able to add a hood on it?
@mariadsouza77348 жыл бұрын
technokitty13 I was thinking the same. There's a video of Clare's on Scoodie... I am thinking it would progress like that!! But this is definitely my next project
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
OOooo now there is a great idea, I have never added a hood to anything like this, after the cape is made I would crochet around the neck, starting at the fist increase(there are 4) and then crochet around to the last increase. crochet until the hook is long enough, fold so that the last row you just made is in half and then close up the top Hope this gives you some ideas, oh and this will give you a pointed / pixie style hood, not rounded I have this scoodie pattern that shows you how to make a rounded hood bit it will need to made separate and not sure it if would fit the cape kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIq1gIihr5KXmKc Here are 2 other links to video that may give you ideas kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYGTqJ1vnsh4ack kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH-vhnp4rr5oeKs
