Although I kind of agree there is a loophole as per washington state law. Im sure it would need a trial or review by State prosecutors. This loophole would seem to apply to everyone in that state. : Duty to preserve public safety: If you are performing a duty to preserve public safety, maintain public order, or make arrests, you are exempt from the brandishing law... This may be only for on duty police like most states but its not clear to me without more research but it may be the out they need. Either way it's uncalled for and she at the very least should be made to attend some classes and given a fine. Like anger management or community service.
