If your familiar with world of tanks beta, the T30 actualy started out as the tier 10 heavy tank for the U.S.A. and was well known for eating Maus and IS-7 at close range because they didn't have any weak spots in the turret until I think update 6.5-6.7

I know what you mean. Playing arty really helps vent the frustration sometimes. But I don't suicide like we see so many people so many times do in Jingles' videos. It's so rewarding when you know when to fight and when to flee and where to best support your team.

Jingles, Great video, but your rushing your shots. I have got serveral sniper badges in the T30. I know in the heat of battle its harder then hell to wait for that retical to zero in. But you will notice a great increase in accuracy if you wait.. and getting your crew trained up helps as well.

Just putting it out there: I just play this tank like a glorified t34 or t29, the tank is the same anyways, just with a bigger gun, so going frontline with the heavies is also an option in this thing.

To be fair Jingles mostly does first impressions of vehicles, but he does a great technical overview of the tanks features which I think gives a lot of insight more-so than the gameplay (although that is more entertaining ofc). Ideally he would have a lot of games in the tank to review it, but once you've played enough World of Tanks in general and played lots of different tank types you can give a decent impression of a tanks capabilities.

Hi Jingles! In my opinion, high alpha would be substantial upgrade to this tank as well. People often overestimate importance of high ROF. Actually it would be more useful for mediums, that can flank and actually need it. for a heavy or TD, higher ROF is better if you do a standoff with an enemy and keep shooting each other without any pause, when it's a DPM race. But more often, 1 high alpha shot is more important when exchanging fire, not only in urban environment, but anywhere with cover. :)

I have the mod (without XVM) this is what it says in the config: The circlesize tag lets you either set the circle size to a specific value in meters, or (with setting viewrange) to your current tank turret viewrange modified by coated optics if you got them. so it does work with coated, not with telescope or crew skills.

this is the most fun tank i have played in this game (haven't played too many high tier tanks though sadly) but so far this has been the best.. you can just see the fear in the enemy tanks eyes when they see you and you are aiming your huge 155 gun at them, just total panic and then suddenly wham, 750 dmg.. and its just so much easier to use around corners and use the turret to your advantage because you can turn it.. unlike most other td.. you really have to try and appreciate this lovely tank

jingles, a little tip from a T95 lover on how to tell the two guns apart, the 120mm is a shorter bore than the 155mm, if the gun looks stubby its the 120, if its length nearly matches that of the 95 itself your looking at a 155

I actually once penned the T30's turret from above in the Lorr. 155 51 artillery and did close to 1300 damage (yes this was before the arty nerf). He was behind a big cliff too, I was very lucky to even hit him at all, let alone to PEN him IN THE TURRET for almost 1300 damage. One of my best moments in artillery ever.

Jingles, with respect, the hull armor of this thing is absolutely nothing to compliment. It is identical to the T34 premium, and lemme tell ya: Tier 6 guns will penetrate your hull, even when angled. So it is fair to fully promote hull-down over all else.

First: I LOVE YOU for posting the T30! One of my favorite tanks in the game! I hated it as tier 10 heavy, love it as TD! That said: When you get the 155mm, you will see why 99% of people use the it over the 120mm. Yes you have better ROF and slightly more aim time with 120mm, but the 155mm is just amazing. The T30 isnt a T30 without the 155mm. As for equipment, I found the camo net to be better than the optics, though, there have been cases where I wished I had your set up! GL out there Jingles!

The T30 is actually very stealthy. I have been 100m from target with all crew at 100% camo, camo paint, and camo net and fired my gun without being spotted. Camo really makes this tank fun since you can hide and it takes you moving your hull (most of the time) to get spotted. Jingles, I wish you were on US Servers. Would be nice to have another T30 to platoon with. :)

It was a heavy tank before the M103 and the T110E5 were introduced. When those tanks were added the former tier 9 T34 Heavy tank was turned into a tier 8 premium and the former tier 10 T30 heavy tank was turned into a tier 9 TD.

I saw a video on youtube where someone driving the KV-4 got the perfect ghost shot on a T29. It hit the gun mantle of the T29 but it went through and did full damage. There was no hole shown on the gun mantle.

First circle isn't view range. It's there so you can guesstimate the distances. First one is 400m and the second circle is 600m on most mods. It's so that you can determine whether or not you have the spare time to RTB and such.

T30= God like version of T29. When I get this thing I'm playing it like a fucking heavy with that 120MM gun. But those of you who played the T29 Knows to hull down when ever possible. so play it EXACTLY like a T29. and its pretty quick. so arty isn't a real problem.

a tank destroyer is basically in the T30s case, its a base model for the T29 and T34 with a really big gun, they are kind of support sniper vehicles

Jingles, I hate to correct you, as you are obviously more experienced at this game than me, but at least twice you explained that the Vehicle's turning speed was equated with the traverse speed given in the stats. That refers not to the turning circle of the vehicle, but the number of degrees per second at which your turret can rotate. Good vid as usual, I like your war thunder vids too.

it's hull armour is horrible, every tier 7-9 tank can penetrate it, even some tier 6 light tanks. It dosen't matter that it's angled or that you angle your armour, they always penetrate the hull. Other than that it's a good tank

Actually the KV-1 is one of the most fun HTs you can play in the game, play it and you'll come to love it! He just forgot to say German HTs end up in brawl tanks (E-100 and Maus, which both have horrible accuracy at mid-long range). If you want more rounded tanks, go for US lines, they don't have much of any specialty, but can perform well in most roles.

As for weight load limits, like he says at the end, for New tanks: Suspension module If want to be mostly max but for tracks at the start you can get track mod instead of vents esp if got BiA then when you get tracks unlocked drop the suspension module for Vents

I remember when this was the Tier 10 heavy tank which got replaced by the T110E5, and the T34 which became a tier 8 premium, being replaced by the M103 at tier 9, back before patch 7.2 came out, man the T30 at Tier 10 was a beast, even still now with its hit points being sliced, I still think its a gr8 tank as a Tier 9 TD :) ... a bit of an anomalous TD in the American turreted TD line, but still an awesome tank!!

Don't know if it's already been said in the comments, but the T30 originally came out as the only tier 10 American Heavy with the T34 as it's accompanying tier 9. So what your looking at is something that has been watered down and altered from the original release. I do love it maxed out, unless I'm facing the new tier 10's as the armor pen still isn't generally good enough. Though you shot at the side of the Brit there, the 155 would have penetrated.

When I first started playing, I went down the US TD line aiming to get the T30, simply because I have a resin model of it with no instructions and wanted to use the 3D model to find where all the small parts go. I've reached the Hellcat and pretty much given up on the line. I'll get there eventually, but I'm focusing on the British TD line as I have a long established obsession for the A39 Tortoise.

Generally tank destroyers do not have a turret so they have to rotate their whole chassis to aim (although their gun can swerve a little bit left and right). They tend to have the strongest guns in their tier as far as damage is concerned but less hp than standard tanks. Tank Destroyers vary wildly in their chassis though, with some being heavily armoured and others being more designed to hide with the camouflage skill and camo net.

Even though this is four years after the fact, I just unlocked the T30 and am trying to survive long enough to earn the credits for tracks so I can mount the 120mm. I guess I will have to suck up using gold mostly since the basic 105m sucks and wont pen hardly anything. Any suggestions for fighting thru to this. by the way. roof armor is about 15mm thick, so you can pen it just by shooting above gun mantled. I do it all the time whe i encounter T34 or T30 in hulldown :)

The 120mm on the T30 rules. I was very surprised and satisfied with this TD when I got it. I have been sniping tier 10's with it since I got it. I still like my Prototype though and think most just don't understand how to use it. I was afraid it was going to be like the T34 or the even the T29 but I have them all now T29, T30, T34 and will soon have a T32. They all play different but each are great tanks.

T25/2 has armor nearly 100mm cause it's hull is angled. If you angle the tank well it increases its thickness

Yeah I agree there, it feels quite mediocre with the strong turret armour being a saving grace, however the M103 is a great tier 9 tank and the tier 10 heavy has quite the reputation for kicking ass. That's why it's good to have several lines going, so you can play different lines depending on what tier game it is, of course if you have a tier 8 premium you will most likely just play that one as a tier 8.
