Those small coastal villages in Bahia offer a wonderful experience for gringos. Also, I believe that Chapada Diamantina National Park is a very beautiful region of Bahia and the energy of the place is incredible. I saw that you went there but you can easily spend six months exploring all the waterfall, rivers, creeks, ponds, caves, canyons, valleys and plateaus. The local population is very genuine and kind.

@@FallenLight0 Acho que depende do prato e da região(Moqueca de carangueijo/siri são as mais baratas, uns 35-40 conto, mas tem as de polvo, lula, lagosta c/camarão e peixes exóticos e outros frutos do mar e etc... que são realmente mais caras, custando R$70 a R$80) ... Que eu saiba em Salvador tudo é realmente muito caro... Nunca fui, mas parte da minha família que é baiana diz que sim... Mas a razão de serem tão caras é que servem em porções(no mínimo para 2, e as mais caras são porções para 4)... OBS: Sou brasiliense, mas já visitei muitas cidades da Bahia(Ilhéus, Itacaré, Maraú, Camamu, Feira de Santana, Bom Jesus da Lapa, Brumado, etc... Só não fui a Salvador nem Porto Seguro)

@@FallenLight0 Quanto a ser desértico, depende das praias... Tem muitas praias paradisíacas que ficam vazias praticamente o dia inteiro... No caso eles estão numa ilha, então dá para entender... Tem praias que são de água cristalina e permanecem vazias, e outras em que a água não é tão limpa, ás vezes até um pouco suja, mas fica lotado o dia inteiro...

Eu nunca fui a essa ilha, Boipeba, mas já fui a lugares semelhantemente incríveis como Barra Grande em Taipus de Fora, Praia do Corumbau, Ilha da Pedra Furada, e nas dezenas de praias maravilhosas de Itacaré(Prainha, Itacarezinho, Praia do Pontal)... Não só as praias, mas a cidade em si é sensacional... Se você for a Bahia, recomendo bastante que visite algumas dessas praias. Com o devido cuidado, pois nem todas as praias de Itacaré são boas...

About things being closed: it must be cause of Christmas, right? I mean, what day was it? Here in Brazil, many places, stores and companies stop working or work just part time at this time of the year + COVID... I believe that's why. Considering that you are in a touristic, where they're more commonly open, it's kinda weird anyways.

It might be, because there are few tourists. So the bigger restaurants gets almost everyone. From what I saw, there wasn't many people even in the beach. But, who knows...

You're right! And Boipeba is not so touristic.. it's more secluded.. Morro de São Paulo might have been a better option, with more places to visit and things to do, unless they just wanted a few days to do nothing and enjoy deserted beautiful beaches.

I know Boipeba pretty well, actually is it quite touristic but has got fewer options than Morro (less 'civilised', for the lack of a better word. I've been travelling to this gorgeous island (mainly Morere and Bainema beaches) for almost 10 years, all year round. Been there last October and it was the first time I had problems finding restaurants, bars and even some shops. Prices skyrocketed! Even though the ' pousadas' and hotels were all completely full, there was a rule of x% of occupation which made business pretty harsh for them, meaning the island was virtually empty. Mind you, most people stay at 'Velha Boipeba', whilst the best place usually is in Morere or Bainema. This was mainly to do with Covid.

Estou vendo os vídeos deles, uma coisa estranha que muito dos perengues que passam poderiam ser evitados se ele falassem perguntassem na própria pousa, hotel etc coisas básicas, para ter uma noção aqui no Brasil tem sim gente que tira proveito como em ouros países mas, tem mais gente do bem, quando viajo pergunto no hostel e depois fora e faço uma comparação, até para descobrir coisas locais que normalmente não é oferecido p turista Enfim eu tinha vergonha não perguntava e me arrependo, hoje não eu pergunto principalmente no Brasil que as pessoas são mais solicitas

Acho q a língua é um fator limitador no caso deles. Mas vc tem razão, não há nada melhor doq perguntar primeiro na pousada onde a pessoa não tem nenhum interesse monetário "extra", e muito provavelmente conhece a região e os melhores lugares. Pelo menos vc tem uma visão mais local , pq se for seguir só catálogo vc acaba caindo nas viagens mais caras e mais caros restaurantes que nem sempre são os melhores. Mas eu diria que pra dois gringos sozinhos que não falam português até que eles se saem melhor que a maioria.

Eu tb acho que eles estão evitando fazer amizades. Aqui vc faz amizade por 3 a 4 dias e talvez para a vida toda. Nós convidamos os amigos de 3 dias para visitarem nosso estado e até se hospedarem em nossa casa. Isso o Tim ( do canal "Tim explica") aprendeu muito bem. O casal está perdendo o melhor do Brasil, que é simplesmente o povo brasileiro e sua famosa amizade, hospitalidade e alegria. É por isso que não dá para colocar as experiências anteriores na bagagem desse jeito. A maioria dos brazileiros é um coração e um sorriso.

Concordo tem tanto praia o linda na Bahia que se fosse na Europa seria mais badala que Mykonos e Ibiza. Nesses lugares mal tem areia, é só pedra. Aqui tem faixa de areia fina bem extensa, água em temperatura agradável quase o ano todo. Deveria ser mais explorado, pelo menos em alta temporada, mas de forma organizada para também não estragar.

@@Eddu41 eu já fui em outubro e já fui em janeiro. As praias de Cabo Frio não achei tão geladas, fiquei na do Forte ambas as vezes. A única q eu achei extremamente gelada foi a praia do Atalaia (da escadaria) e em outubro. Em janeiro tava gelada mas dava pra suportar tranquilo. A praia do Forno em Arraial, água quente ambos os meses. Óbvio q se comparar com o Nordeste a água é muito gelada mesmo, mas nada q impeça de entrar na água, muito menos de curtir as praias maravilhosas

Guys I just book trip to Boipeba on March. I Never heard about this beach island place before. Even I was born in Brazil if I wasn't follow your videos I wouldn't know this place. I am going to stay at Santa Clara Pousada and I got some tips of the island to explore. Guido was one restaurant my travel agent made me a recommendation. Thanks for your videos. I am waiting for you guys in my state of Minas Gerais. No beaches in here, but bunch others things to do and explore here. You must go to Céu de Boipeba at sunset. One of the greatest viewpoint of Boipeba. U also take the island boat tour and go to Piscinas de Moreré.

If you are still in Boipeba, I strongly recommend the boat tour called "Volta à Ilha" (a walk around the island) - if it's available. It's necessary to take a boat in order to go to some parts of the island. Then, you can ask the famous lobster pastry in "Ponta dos Castelhanos" or butter seared lobster which is a dish in another part of the island. I also recommend a tour with a local oceanographer.

Guys, the scenery in Boipeba is breathtaking. The shops in the village could be closed because of the Christmas festivities. If you have any spare time, go to the Morro de São Paulo island which is not far from where you are, also Cacha Pregos, which in on the corner of the Itaparica Island. The sunset over there is gorgeous! I love the coconut flesh you had. There are many mango trees where you are. The mangos are delicious. Keep enjoying Boipeba.

I think this place has a low tide natural pools as well... You guys should check the Tide board, a board that describe the level of the ocean. If it is near 0, it means you could see the coral reefs and see the natural pools !

You'll probably see that in many beach cities or villages or in islands, there may be a church next to the beach. That happens because as soon as the portugueses landed in these places, the portuguese priests used to stick a cross in the ground in a high place next to the shore and blessed the place, and in that spot they usually built a church. And, another thing: in Portuguese language, we do not pronounce the letter "H" when it comes before a vowel - it has no sound at all. You just say "Baía" (Bahia) or "Avaianas" (Havaianas). But when it comes after a letter "N", like in "Penha", you pronounce it just like in the Spanish "Peña" - it's the same phoneme - or in "cariño" (carinho in Portuguese). ; )

Here's a tip for you guys: the coconut meat tastes a lot better when it's all wet and jelly-like. The more mature the coconut is, the harder and thicker the meat gets. The green ones are most likely to have a softer meat, though you won't be able to know for sure until it's open, so I highly recommend you keep trying, it's worth it!

There is a huge variation on the coconut "meat". Sometimes you barely can eat anything, sometimes it's super dry, others super wet, etc.. Keep trying!

Sometimes It might be very crunch, so you gonna taste the natural taste of a cocounut without sugar. Just a tip, try to get small parts from the edges. I think it's easier, so you don't have tô scracht.

Fun fact: once I got a coconut from that very same tree! And I was SOOO happy about it! At that time I was an undergraduate student and didn’t have money for anything. So it was nice to get a coconut for free. (You guys know you can eat the insides of a coconut too right?).

You guys really have to try (chocolat) cocoa in Bahia! Is one of the biggest producers on the entire world. But you guys have to trty something more local, not industrialized ones. Ousadia, Catuaba and Corote are known for being really cheap beverages, so it's super common between yong people which are broken xd. Catuaba is made from açai. I don't really like it, but maybe you guys should try it once

@@lindseyfw2903 Before Maragogi, visit Maceió. Try a lot of flavors ice cream of fruits in the Bali ice cream shop.....there is a place called São Miguel dos Milagres. It id not far from Maragogi. You can visit the peixe-boi santuary...and the incredible beaches.
