The novelty wore off for Brooke She was ‘ in love’ with Thorne when she was in competition with another woman. Normal life makes her feel like something is missing. She loves the push and pull she gets from a toxic relationship . She thinks she’s in love with Ridge only because he’s a waffler and she’s always afraid of losing him whenever she has him. This is anxiety often confused with butterfly’s or ‘ love’ It happens in the real world So if you ever get that feeling with a person it’s a red flag 🚩 Run they aren’t good for you!

Great analysis…Brooke is portrayed as an emotionally immature character. In the real world she should have been done with Ridge after he broke her heart with choosing Caroline. This relationship with Thorne could have been Karma for that event for both Brooke and Thorne finding love and happiness after Caroline’s leaving Thorne for Ridge…Ridge’s dumping Brooke for Caroline. 😮 One draw back though…Thorne’s treatment of Macy and her Tragic death. And Brooke’s insensitivity to Macy’s plight. 🤨 Now it seems in soapworld that the Venice Plot worked after everything is said and done? 🤔

Nice summary. Also, it's not about love for the man for Brooke, but more about competition to steal the man away from the woman. She did this with Macy, Stephanie, Thorne, Taylor. Once she got the prize, she lost interest. With Brooke & ridge, it was more about being addicted to the drama, that it brought.

I was about to say what you're saying is real. People are so use to chaos and instability that when they have a healthy relationship they get bored and self-sabotage. Bridge was NEVER a healthy relationship; it was based on insecurity and "excitement". Tridge was the healthiest example of a marriage on this show pre-2005.

Keep in mind the writers want chaos and instability and Brooke’s part is used to create just that as part of the Drama. It isn’t meant to be about the happy family theme…that never is allowed to last long on a soap. 😮 Angst is the name of the game on Soaps…manipulations, betrayals, backstabbing, collusion all that good(?) stuff that produces the suspense and drama. 😳

He was deliberately trying to stop Taylor from sharing the truth with Ridge. Back then he didn’t care who Taylor really loved, but now he cares so much about whom Brooke’s ‘real love’ is that he breaks up with her 😂

In episode 3405 (9 of this season) Thorne has a huge meltdown after Brooke breaks up with him because of Rick and Bridget, he drinks, burns all of the pictures of him and Brooke and remembers how everyone warned him about this relationship until he breaks and screams “they were right! I was a fool!!” And then sees a picture of Macy and starts crying over giving up on her for nothing.. They should have done this scene now!! It would have fit sooooo muuuuchhhhh better

I have to disagree for once with you Babs; I don’t think Ridge settled for Taylor. And I never thought Bridge were endgame or soulmates either. Of course now that everyone has left the show, it looks that way, due to the terrible writing of Bell jr. Back then, Tridge were THE couple for me after Caroline died.
