She honestly reminded me of my english teacher. When I asked for help on a project instead of helping she just said "Other people are doing fine with this, it's your problem you can't come up with more ideas and you keep getting distracted. I think you can do it, so just do it." Needless to say I don't like that teacher anymore.

Eh, I didn't mean to undermine Molly. I mean, she's obviously unfamiliar with the show unlike Carla, and with how often Babish came to BA they should be familiar enough to tease each other. Chaotic doesn't always mean bad thing y'know, it's just chaotic.

kbender87 - I’m gonna help you (and a few others) out with the subtext. Babish who’s a successful and competent food host should be able to put up with a little teasing as to his ‘lack of skill’ by a pro chef. This is amusing to watch because a lack of skill on his part is a ridiculous assumption. Molly clearly considers him a noble competitor and throws him an obstacle course with a sprinkle of snide remarks to test her theory. Babish prevails, mutual respect is shared. In summary, listen to 10:27 .

I still think that Babish is at least somewhat competent in the kitchen and Molly's sort of vague instructions made for a fun and entertaining video and in the end I think everyone included knew it was all just for fun and nothing serious.

Molly fell for the trap that Binging WIth Babish sets in believing he could handle a challenging recipe. Andrew said sometime in a Q&A that he doesn't consider himself a necessarily good cook, he just takes his time and knows how to make things look good on camera. He can cook food, yes, but the videos we see are likely after many attempts of testing and experimenting. This was his first time with an unfamiliar and weird (by behaviour if nothing else) ingredient and some techniques he would usually use a machine for.

I feel like she was trying to put him down so she would look like the better cook. But honestly, I've tried both of their recipes and I like Binging with Babish's more the majority of the time. I don't know, I'm not trying to be mean, maybe that's just her personality or way of joking. I just didn't like the way she was treating him.
