I want to thank you for giving an honest review unlike all the shills for Bondic making reviews that don't attempt to stress test the product properly. The best description for this product is "weak bond." If its something you can use for a quick weak bond, okay, but super glue is not much slower and is stronger.

I feel your pain. I bought this a few years ago and it didn't work for what I was using it for, but I still kept it like it was this valuable thing, thinking that I must not have been doing it right or it wasn't the right application. I looked up your video to see how to do it properly, and this about answers my question. I have some statues that have some pieces broken off, so I will probably use up the stuff by building up the missing pieces and painting over it. I won't keep saving it, nor will I buy any more. melt it together with a heat gun. once it gets liquidy drag it to the seam and let cool I fixed plastic fenders on my atv this way... if u want it super strong, get you some mesh wire, like chicken wire., heat the back of the plastic up and embed the mesh into the plastic,, it will never crack again.

P.P.S.: I often use the baking soda + superglue fix (the 'cyanoacrylate' formula o-n-l-y), which is phenomenally strong! As strong as it is, the little mound that can result is easily sanded away!

Too bad that you didn’t have success with it. I have had terrific success with a lot of bonding tasks. I love the stuff. I have one of these and also have A LOT of experience with UV cured gel in the past. The most important part to keep in mind is surface prep. If the surface is properly prepped (etched/sanded, cleaned with alcohol, and dried), the results are DRAMATICALLY different than what you are experiencing here in your video. Also, when you were putting the nail heads together, remember that the UV light needs to reach full exposure of the gel or it will not cure. The gel that is in the center of each nail head will not cure so that makes the point that the UV gel repair needs to be something where the light can reach the point of repair and saturate the gel with UV. It is most certainly not glue. It’s a light cured gel very much the same as the light cured gel nails women have put on for fake nails. VERY strong stuff. It’s just imperative that you get the surface prep right and always apply UV light to EVERY area that it sits on. The biggest issue is the lack of education for the proper methods of application

I do welding on the side so I know how important prep work is. I also read the instructions for this product and feel like I did my part. I feel like I gave it a fair chance at least. I also feel like there's WAY better options for bonding, gluing, welding or just sticking something together than this...stuff.

@@Bluelightbandit, it’s definitely not a magic bullet as they proclaim. But for certain applications it’s an excellent option. Definitely not for any sort of flexible materials. The biggest issue is the UV compound is assuredly not the same sort of strength you would find in either dental UV gels or even the stuff used for crafting artificial fingernails. The wholesale cost of either of those would be FAR greater than what is supplied in that little kit. If you have ever used either of those compounds you would have an idea of how strong this stuff can actually be. A little brittle sometimes depending on the blend balance. But with the correct blend it can have just the right amount of flex. But it would also be pretty friggin expensive. A comparable amount with what is supplied of a correct blend would probably be about $60+ for sure. Again, the really strong stuff is NOT an inexpensive item.

Great review👍😊 I've tried it - is it better than cheaper variants? - so far, I've had success (I use the UV light for 30-50 seconds), BUT it can't replace many of the other glues and fixatives I use, so I'll try and play to its strengths. Is it as good or as strong as the product used by dentists? Or stronger than cheaper versions? I've yet to find out. Is it up to the hype? I don't think so it can't be all things to all people. It's starting to remind me of the Chinese derived super scratch remover/coverer for car paint though. I have to say the nozzle is helpful and it's consistency seems better than others I've seen, but the applicator is all low rent - supposedly the "not glue" is superior quality to others. Again I can't yet comment. In some applications it could replace two part epoxy, but not for strength (Buccaneer aircraft wings were bonded with two part epoxy you couldn't trust this stuff to do the same!).😳🙄 Without abrading the surfaces, as I couldn't get at them, I affixed a soapy PVC type plastic to nickel silver. So far so good, I'm going to blast it with WD40 (solvent) and see if it still holds👍😄😲👍😄

Did you clean with alcohol or similar product before using ? No adhesive seems to adhere to dirt or coated surface. Your nails are Cement coated framing nails and needs a lot of cleaning not just a scape job

I was wondering if you cleaned them well. But because of your vid I avoided them . I bought a three part kit with different viscosities and a uv light that has a ton of bulbs .

Good review. I will say in the defense of Bondic (I have no affiliation with Bondic, I'm just pointing this out). That it does state in the directions that Bondic hardens only in places that can be reached by the UV light. So there never was a true bond between the nail heads. I mean, right, or is my logic flawed?

er it only glues where the light can penetrate so its exterior fixative there's no use trying to butt jointing anything as the uv will not penetrate between objects, the glue is awesome in some uses.

I fell for the hype and threw over $70AUD at them and I really wish I’d seen this video first. They try to say in the paperwork **after the kit arrives** that it “IS NOT A GLUE”, but just the other day, a video ad from Bondic popped into my feed and it was STILL advertising itself as an extremely strong “GLUE”!!! (The one where they “GLUE” bricks together) They try to get out of the ‘glue’ fail by making the claim that it is a ‘plastic weld’... but what is welding? Permanently joining two pieces of material. What is glueing? Permanently joining two pieces of material. False advertising x 100. DO NOT BUY !!!!!!!

I just saw this advertised on KZbin and it looked impressive so I ran off to find a review and yours was the first I saw. Next stop is to find all the people who got paid to promote it and watch them all give it rave reviews or whatever. Should be fun after seeing your demonstration. If it only cures with UV light then maybe that's why it did a little better with glass than with wood and metal, as the light could get in there and cure it. It failed on the water bottle, and failed to glue your gloves to the glass, so maybe it's just plain useless. I've never heard of dentists gluing peoples' gnashers back on, and if that was a thing then I suppose the seller couldn't claim to have invented it. Seems weird. I probably wouldn't have rushed out to buy some as don't use glue much, but it seemed like something I could keep around almost forever without it going off in the cupboard. I can forget all about it now and not bother, so thanks for that.

My dentist used a UV glue on my teeth many many years ago, and it was some really hard shit!! Held for many years before I had to get the problem taken care of permanently! So yes, dentists actually DO use UV glue on peoples teeth! Is it this stuff?... highly doubt it, but they do use UV glue, I do know that.

@@Bluelightbandit I just put a rear view mirror on for the drivers side with bondic and a 30 second measure using that super 3rd world country version of a light to see if it makes any difference, granted soft cloth strips vs industry applications, it could save me a few hundred so I figured why not? I'll keep you in the loop. You inspired me by noticing that most directions aren't quite right, for instance TV dinners. Why is it still frozen in the middle but burnt rubber on the sides? I followed the instructions exactly? Chances are, they either don't care or don't know how to translate. Either way it's still just helping others along for whatever reason to better us all. This is basically the same thing as uv resin. It's not meant to work on many of the items you're testing. From my experience years ago, this uv "glue" is excellent to use with glass, but not so great on things like metal or wood. I have used Bondic to completely replace a large hole in a glass vase (tape off back of hole to get the correct shape then add and cure the bondic in thin layers). Holds water with no leaks. As with any repair job, it's all about using the correct product to make the repair. Like you wouldn't use wood glue on wiring that requires soldering. You wouldn't use rubber cement to make a structural repair to wood or metal. So while this is a review of Bondic, it's not necessarily a legitimate review when it's being tested on items it's not intended to work on. And as others pointed out, surface prep also makes a big difference for it working or failing. After using uv resin for a while now and it being basically the same as bondic while also costing significantly less money for more product, I'd skip the bondic and go for uv resin.

Sorry, but even I have to read the fucking manual when I’m tryng it my way first. And as they say, bondic is a learning process. I still learning things, as today, the thicker bondic: more lighting. And change battery some time. When you ”glue” two nailheads together with bondic you have to cover around both heads with bondic, so the bondic itself is the “glue” around the heads, not between. Same with the pipehole. You have to put bondic on the inside first, larger than the hole and then light it. Then do one on the outside and it will function as a rivet. And as always, clean surface first. Well, not needed on the inside in this case. Happy bonding

You should look at the bondic training video. They actually do move the uv-light around. I have also seen that it hardens over time so leave it to the next day before trying to break it. But I did save on the money though and didn't buy it after all. Thanks. If it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.

And when you weld the plastic together make sure you give it more time to let it dry not sand it right away. It's goes the same with any glue applications. Give it at least 24 hours or so. Not just expect this adhesive to be cure right away! Patience my friend.

Solarez UV Dual Cure, Low-VOC Clear Polyester Resin (4 Oz) ~ this stuff is waaaay better just make sure you use a powerful uv light not that dollar trinket that comes with bondic. I have questioned if a stronger UV light would make bondic perform better, but not willing to by more to find out! That is one thing you might try since you bought the motherload. I used up the Bondic that I bought patching phone charging or usb cables and making LED's and the power supplies waterproof. The only two uses I found.

Geez I feel so stupid and disappointed. Btw, welding only takes place when the 2 metals/plastics melt and fuse together. Bondec is definitely not welding. Don’t waste your money like I did.

It is not superglue so why are you treating it like superglue? It’s for bonding plastic together. I do not recall you testing any plastic. The tubing was vinyl.

What this would be very good at, superglue and baking soda already excels at. Filling in chips in plastic would be the number one thing. But superglue and baking soda is by far the best way to fill in chipped plastic. But plastic cannot be fixed. You can fill in imperfections, but you cannot repair it with any glue. Glass cannot be fixed using a glue or "weld" or anything like this. Wood is MUCH better fixed with wood glue.

Like it says, it’s not a glue and your demo was really proved that claim. This stuff is for ‘patching up’. A tear in a low voltage cable or a small hole in a rubber pipe would be where this bonder would work, but all the same you took all the doubt out of what the limitations of the product. (BTW I’ll give you $10 for the two remaining tubes 😂)

I followed the directions, the light is supposed to cure the bond, not time. Kinda defeats the purpose. May as well use any regular bonding product, especially if you're going to wait a day for curing.

Bought it too. On experience and thought. It should not work well. Because it is not an adhesive. It is plastic hardened with UV. No chemical bondo g to materials and not thin enough to create a micro mechanical bond. So, it barely works. A Plastic to plastic connection will not be a material bond. This creates a weak mechanical bond to things. That means the liquid plastic will go into a micro/tiny crevasse and solidify making it hold untill the plastic breaks. For us who bought bondic - hide the cards when watching infomercials and late night TV. And do not watch Internet ads. Sucka!
