The ultimate new year reset and declutter

I like what I see here. I did the very same thing to my bedroom closet and dresser drawers (after weight loss). Threw away/gave away a lot. Then it was on to my kitchen cabinets and drawers. Lots of plastics to recycle and throw away/give away. Finally my garage. Got my Christmas stuff down to one plastic container. Brought a LOT of e-waste and construction stuff to the city place. Arranged for a special trash pickup for stuff that didn’t fit in my bins. It was all SO satisfying and the end result was amazing. [Just re-read this and it sounds like I'm bragging. Don't mean to be. I'm old and it needed to be done.] Happy Hols to all!

I’d always recommend looking into local charity drop offs to see if that’s something you could do!

I grew up with stuff under my bed, right into adult hood. Only in the last 2 years have I cleared out enough that I don’t have anything under my bed anymore. And it’s been a game changer….. I feel so much less ‘crammed’ in and surrounded. For 8 years I’ve been clearing out/organising….. finally ‘finished’ a few weeks ago. Hopeful that its will be easier to maintain going forward. I also keep boxes for tech things…. Maybe once you’ve cleared everything out you’ll actually have the space you need?

Something I really need to do around my home especially stuff I know won’t get used that much at all. But we have a small 3 bed house for two of us. It was the family home so I dread what’s in the loft when we have to clear that out x

Good declutter! Use battery puck lights in the corner cupboards so you can easily see what’s in the corner cupboard… just a suggestion. They work for me. ❤

With clothes I always question when I last wore it. If I didn't wear it in the last season it was appropriate for I let go of it because I am unlikely to reach for it in the next season.

Why dont you vacume the extra bedding? i always vacuüm extra pillows and zomer/winter bedding it saves so much space

No not at all, I buy things to use them etc, but with items like tech that I end up updating in the future at some point, I will sell on older items so keep the boxes for those reasons. Always good to give them another life than them end up as waste.
