To complete in a BSB support race is hard enough, but to do it with one leg, a year after such an awful, life changing crash is something else. Well done Boothy. Great video. Oh. Yeah 😊

Boothy my old Boss lost his leg he got back on bike and used Shimano MTB SPD clipless pedal to click his boot into the bike, they have a little float but also you can adjust the tension, and like a ski binding if you fall it will unclip, but you can get a Road Shimano Spd or Look Clipless pedal as they have cleats that have zero degrees of float, so once set in position it'll hold the boot in that position. Well done chap 🤙

Boothy. Would cycling pedal cleats help with locating the the right 'foot'? Still allow for some movement but the boot should stay located were you need it and easy the get out of when you stop.

This time last year I was in an induced coma for three week, due to sepsis. I’m now 4 weeks without a walking stick, every day a little better. Boothy gave me the ‘fuck you, I’m not giving up’ attitude to my recovery. Cheers mate, big kiss!

Hard to put into words how incredible this video is really. This channel has become something quite special since discovering it thru covid and admittedly I started mostly watching barons content I quickly realised how brilliant al and boothy are too. How this channel isn't the biggest amongst our community is beyond me. It feels like a family and boothys journey has become one of the most heartfelt things I've seen on KZbin and this comeback makes it all the more sweeter. Congratulations doesn't seem quite enough somehow. I hope you all at the channel realise how much you help others thru times of good and bad. It truly feels like a lil family over here at 44teeth so thank you. And legend gets thrown around far too much these days...but boothy you truly are one

Boothy you absolute legend!!! Words can't describe how in awe I am at your sheer determination, will & humbleness. So happy to see you back in the saddle & enjoying it! It wouldn't have mattered if you binned it, didn't qualify or f*cked up the race but you nailed the entire weekend beyond what anyone would have expected, well done sir! Can't wait to see your progress over the season as you get more comfortable on the bike. You gotta give Al some credit though for setting the bike up for a "fuller rider" shall we say 😂

I think that it being a hard road back is an understatement, you have a full racing brain with a shit load of talent and you’re having to learn again and that mental battle must be hugely difficult. The fact it’s hard will make the overall journey longer but so much more rewarding. True inspiration to anyone who’s been through anything similar but also to anyone who hasn’t, fair play mate and I look forward to many more racing vids and following your progress

Brings a tear to the eyes watching this, absolutely incredible effort boothy and a great result for your first race back. The journey of recovery never runs the path you expect it to, I took me a while to understand that my recovery path was going to be one I had to make, and not some pre designed thing. Standby for corners you didn't expect, camber that can both help and hinder and straights that are never really straight, but I can promise you, it'll be worth it in the end. All the best bud.

Great Stuff, Boothy! About the problems with the footpeg: There's this former Austrian Ski racer called Matthias Lanzinger who lost his leg in an accident and afterwards started racing motorcycles fairly competitively. He uses a special setup where he kind of fixates his prosthetic leg to the bike. Maybe it could help you to check that out. Cheers!

@poguemahone5476 Жыл бұрын
@@darkiee69 yeah they're not fixed, they're magnetic so you could move your foot, twist for knee out etc and not worry your foot is maybe on the end of the peg or in the arch because it would centre itself to where you've decided feels best. Could probably DIY some kind of setup with a rare earth magnet from an old hardrive.
