It truly speaks a lot of the film's quality when the original writer wanted his name off the movie and even denied a pseudonym name after Eli Roth rewrote his script and turned into something else. For Craig Mazin who's making a strong comeback after doing several terrible comedy movies, if this was known by the public to be his follow up after The Last Of Us and Chernobyl, i honestly can't blame him for taking his name off and wanted no part of it whatsoever

I don't actually think the actors having no knowledge about the games is a problem. Would it help? Sure, it always helps to have context for the character they're playing. But the actors in the Fallout TV series hadn't played the Fallout games, and that show still turned out great.
@marigolden_mariposa3 ай бұрын
some of them, like Ella, DID play the game beforehand as research. Walton chose not to play the games intentionally and gave his reasons why. but yes, no actors NEED to play a game for the adaptation to be good.
@Tomodrone2 ай бұрын
I think the point is less that actors need to play the game, but more that they should at least have some knowledge of the source material to get the basic tone. You don't have to know everything or even play the games, but maybe watching a few KZbin videos and cut scenes to get the basic idea of the character and the tone of the setting can't hurt

"Furiosa" was sad to see underperform because it was still clear as day a lot of effort and care went into it from a passionate crew all around. "Borderlands" isn't sad to see underperform because it feels like such an aggresively miscalculated piece of work released under a more marketable rating in the hopes they'll at least get the teenage audience late summer numbers, it really is hard to feel bad about it's failure. Also, appreciate that this movie makes me want to see "Dungeons And Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" again to remind me of something that puts effort to earning that "Guardians" comparison in a positive light.

Bobby Lee is no different than most people in Hollyweird, so perhaps you should stop watching movies and TV shows all together. I don't care who doesn't want to hear it, the majority of people in Hollywood are degenerate, hypocritical, self-righteous, hedonistic reprobates who sold their souls for fame and fortune. This passage comes to mind when I think of "progressive" Liberal Hollywood that promotes immorality while claiming to be on the moral high ground. 2 Peter 2:19-22 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” Romans 1:22-32 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man-and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ---Reminds me of the Liberal activists who serve the earth through "Environmentalism" and animals through "Animal Rights Activism" instead of serving the God Who created all of those things. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the [d]woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased (adokimos, reprobate: failing to pass the test, worthless, counterfeit) mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 *being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.* ---That is Hollywood in a nutshell. Mark 8:24-28 34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 *For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”*

Yeah, Randy bitch-slapped the voice actor (and main writer for the first two) because he asked to be paid for doing the voice acting and not just doing it for free on the side of being a writer, you know, like ALL the other voice actors were paid for doing it. He's got his own KZbin channel that does film analysis too now, and it's an awesome channel, my guy knows his stuff, and the storylines for the newer games are almost as disappointing as this movie was without him.

Lillith was always a siren, tina was a kid we found in the second game and not "created" - but homeless practically, krieg was an enemy and brought back as a dlc playable character in 2, and Tannis was a background character. I thought itll be great with the casting of Tannis and Moxxie then they annouced Kevin & Cate and i was like welp it was fun while it lasted.

the whole casting was horrible. it was the age of the actors that was weird for me. Cate Blanchet could have been the older character Jamie lee Curtis played, but that's it. seeing JLC's cleavage at the beginning would have been traumatizing if I was a child. Kevin hart and rest of side characters shouldn't have been casted, just a lot of great young actors could have done this and made it a franchise. Covid isnt a excuse for good/bad movies.

At least Jamie Lee Curtis just acts 65 even though she's supposed to be in her thirties. And I'm sorry no offense to the actress but tiny Tina is supposed to have big blue eyes.
