#borleyrectory #haunting #paranormal
The tiny parish of Borley is located in a lonely and sparsely populated area near the east coast of England, near the Suffolk border. It would be largely forgotten if not for the fact that it is the location of what came to be known as “The Most Haunted House in England”.
Harry Price took the case up after a newspaper carried a story about a ghostly nun at the house.. Price was asked by the paper to investigate and he was told about various types of paranormal phenomena that had been reported there, like phantom footsteps; written messages; ghostly whispers; the spirits of previous rectors, the sounds of a phantom coach outside; and of course, the spirit of the nun. This spectral figure was said to drift through the garden eternally searching for her executed lover.
Let us enter Borley Rectory my friends and see what we can awaken....
Oddie Beau's ODDNESS Urban exploration & famous historical features! vintage crime cases & eccentric people from the past! ...and other weird stuff :) ....a dusty store window, filled with ancient alluring oddities. Once you've entered, you'll never want to leave. Quality over quantity.

Dudes, I have seen this story related by other narrator/investigators numerous times. No other accounts of these events come close to the work done here. Absolutely a standard we should all aspire to. I am blown away by the comprehensive accounting, the original pictures, the cohesive approach to the story. You, sir, are a true historian, dealing in subjects academics turn their nose up at, but that we all understand are part of this strange world. If not for your work, the full story could easily be lost to history. I’m appreciative for myself and my grandchildren.

@Arian Aden Arian, I just got out of a relationship in which I did not trust my partner. Turns out I was correct. I should have walked away much sooner than I did. You clearly feel like you’ve been shit on, and chances are good you have been. Take the advice of an old man. The world has changed vastly in the last 2000 years, with the exception of your specific problem. Interpersonal relationships have not changed because people have not changed. Let it, and her, go. She’s still owning you. Declare your freedom and start living it. Revenge is sometimes necessary, I agree, but realize when you’ve been possessed. Good luck buddy, the right one is out there. She may, however, pass on you if you’re still ” Spinning in this tiny mud hole “. ( Confucius )

I live in Sudbury Suffolk just three miles from the hamlet of Borley. I have walked up to the village several times. It is a quiet little place that just wants to be left in peace. The church where the ghosts are said to have gone to after the burning down of the rectory is a beautiful building with a well maintained graveyard. However the vicar has forbidden sleeping in graveyard, a favourite activity of ghost hunters.

I see so many Ouija boards for sake on Ebay! And my thoughts go to people and parents of young people who get them as a game or entertainment. This is not an entertainment. This board and planchette has the ability to draw psychic energy (entities, if you will), and under certain circumstances, Draws the aforementioned in, of its own accord. I have some rather regrettable experience as a youth, using the device. There is a definite reason why there are explicit instructions on removing the device from your posession, and not to destroy it and simply putting it into your trash (you'll NEVER be rid of it this way) And why it must be disposed of in a certain fashion as far away from you, your home or anyone important to you. There is little experience as terrifying as finding your best friend "posessed" by something, and you cannot bring her Out of it - 0

My dear Oddites! Happy to present another spookfest :) Please join me in the Blue room at Borley Rectory for an evening of Cognac and Cheezos. I realise there will be naysayers who think the case of Borley Rectory was fake, and that Harry Price was a fraud; but the debunkers were not present to be able to speculate on it....they never are, but love to debunk all cases of a paranormal nature. I often wonder why they watch videos of this nature, perhaps to indulge in their favourite pastime of 'debunkeree' lol I will let you decide whether there's something to it - after all, there were several families who experienced unexplained phenomenon at Borley Rectory. Sound advice for young and old: *Stay away from Quija boards, Planchettes, etc. - even if you're a non-believer, very real and bad things can come into your life dabbling with such lower astral 'switchboards' - And by using such a board, you are inviting it. You may think it's the spirit of a benign nun you’re communicating with.... but lies and negativity is what you will receive. Anyway whatever your opinion, I know there will many who can just sit back and enjoy a jolly good old fashioned ghost story! Happy Haunted Halloween :)

That was great Oddie! I used to live near there even had a copy of Harry Price's book which I gave to The London Ghost Society - locally it was a typical teenagers jaunt around Halloween but one time a bunch of lads went there to the location - & they were scared witless their engines stopped & all bravado gone arrived at a local pub too scared to go home alone! It was quite the talk of the area - especially as there were still people around in late 60s who had known the Rectory at the turn of the century. The land is regarded & always has been as haunted.

I used to live in Sudbury which is near Borely and have visited the church. One night I was there having a look round, whilst sat in the van we had travelled in, we had stones hitting the side of the van. It sounded like a large handful had been thrown. Another time I was in a small mini van in a local picnic place near to Borely when the whole van was dragged quite a few feet. There was no one about and the back doors were wide open. The handbrake was on and the engine was off. Both of these occupancies have.never been explained.

Hi Oddie I enjoyed the Borley rectory haunt. I always enjoyed haunting movies and if I had the chance I would stay in one. In the mean time I enjoy listening to you

Another Great Job. The Price yearlong investigation sounds like the basis for Shirley Jackson's Haunting of Hill House.

I was thinking exactly that (only of course, "Hill House" in it's first and 2nd versions were supposed to be for only one night:) and this proposed venture was supposed to last an entire year!

I know I’m replying very late. But I just wanted to note that Borley Rectory is actually mentioned in The Haunting Of Hill House somewhere in Doctor Montague’s dialogue earlier in the book. I’m reading the book right now, which is why I looked this video up.

Remember going to Borley as a teenager ,driving up all the lights went off on the car and we couldn't get them back on.We all got out to look around but were all back in the car within 10 mins....very eerie place and haven't been back since !.
