I remember sheep along that bit of road when I drove past there a couple of years ago.I did wonder where that walk went from opposite the bus shelter at Rosthwaite, thank you for sharing the walk with me, another one to add to the list!

Hi Jonathan, it’s a great afternoon one to bag a couple of wainwrights. The sheep were all out before the bus came🐑 🐑🐑😂. Enjoy it out there mate 🥾😁⛰️

We did those two last year but the reverse of your route. Lots of nothingness between the two, from memory, apart from the tarn. I've a photo of the shepherd's hut overlooking Eagle crag, on the wall in the royal oak in rosthwaite. 😀. We've never been in that pub you went in, looks nice.

It’s a nice afternoon one but there isn’t much in between the two😆. I think the views up and down are the best parts 😁. I’ll have a look for the photo next time I’m there. Stayed next door in the spring but the oak was closed. Langstrath is a lovely pub 🍺. I hope you get to visit it soon. Enjoy it out there mate ⛰️😁🥾

Hi Barbara, it is a great one for the shorter days. The wood at the other end of Grange Fell gets a special mention by Wainwright for its autumn splendour 🍂. Thanks for your support. Enjoy it out there 🥾😁⛰️

Awesome stuff you two! That looks like a genuinely crackin' walk. Borrowdale Valley is beautiful. That whole plateau is far more interesting than the upturned bowls of, say, Skiddaw or Fairfield. I could quite easily spend a whole day exploring Grange Fell and Great Crag! Lovely drone footage too, Tony...although, Pro Tip...if you're going to run your drone footage backwards, make sure there are no moving vehicles in-shot! (2:20 timestamp for you). That gave me a proper laugh! Had to rewind to make sure I wasn't seeing things!! 😂 Thanks for the route link mate. I've downloaded and added it to my list. Will make a very good low-cloud alternative when I return to that area next year. 😁👍

@@AdieJ62 Hi Adie, yea, I have a lot of backward vehicles and very fast moving walkers 🤣. It is a really interesting fell, quite unlike the Northern area. I’ll be back to take it from the Kings How end and head across. Enjoy it when you get there mate, all the best ⛰️😁🥾

Hi Tony and Allison. Beautiful Borrowdale, just a stunning area. Super video and drone footage. We stayed in the Borrowdale Hotel a couple of years ago and did those two Wainwrights from there. Our first port of call though was Kings How which we both thought was the best summit of the day with amazing views. How Mr W didnt include that one is a puzzle! We found the top of Grange fell pretty confusing so we just did the Wainwright top and moved on. Love the cafe at Watendlath too which lucky for us has always been open when weve visited. A gorgeous spot. ATB

Hi Tony, thanks mate, it’s a lovely place. It is a confusing top like Loughrigg can be but some stunning views. I’ve not got to the Kings How end yet but might do the whole top in one run and come back via the tarn and river. Another excuse to revisit 🤣. Enjoy it out there mate ⛰️😁🥾

Hi Tony, Bi Allison. I’ve yet to do these, I’ve got this very route planned for sometime over the winter. I’m in agreement with Allison, whilst Wainwright has ‘his’ tops you have to top out at the highest point of a mountain. 🤣 I always go on hill bagging website and get the grid ref of the highest point so I know where to go. 🤣 All the best guys 😃⛰🥾

Hi Dave both good ones mate. If you approach Grange Fell from the other end in my Grange Fell/Castle Crag video, the wood has a mention in the book as a great one for autumn colour 🍂. It’s definitely one of the most confusing on top 😂. I might try a walk which brings in all 3 peaks, and hope net to get lost 🤣. Enjoy it out there mate ⛰️😁🥾
