Sony is actually the leader especially with their noise cancelling cancellation feature. By placing your hand over the right ear piece you can instantly hear your wife telling you that you never listen to her. 😉

Yes, but as stated in the video, the call quality of the Bose is not only very good, it seems to be alot better than the Sony’s - particularly what concerns ambient noise rejection from calls disturbing the person on the other end of the line. Also being able to connect 2 devices at a time (PC phone, and music source) makes it a nice companion for work. One thing to add with Bose: absence of aptX, aptX HD, etc: one is stuck with aac, which means (as stated in video) SQ isn’t and cannot be stellar. So Sony for music LISTENING, Bose for work. Both have their place.

Bose QC35 works great for me still, esp for awesome comfort and NC. The tuning is kind of safe in the upper-mids, but there's ample bass and highs for my liking. It's not audiophile quality, but gets the job done. I use my Audeze Sines when I want great SQ when on the go.

I’ve had B&W PX-7 set for two weeks now... very happy overall. Didn’t do any comparison shopping, but this review is very accurate from my perspective regarding the B&W. I wanted the longer battery life and I like the sound quality out of the gate. Noise cancellation is great from my perspective compared to my broken down Bose on the ear set from 10 years ago! They literally fell apart from plastic parts becoming brittle.

Hes right about bose in the consumer market when it comes to specifically small speaker packages (ie a headphone, neck speaker, bluetooth speaker) are some of the best because they have a lot of R & R for EQ. Headphone audio is relatively flat, and their noise canceling is always #1 or #2 on the consumer market because they develop aviatron noise canceling products. So anything but their large passive speakers are at least above average for their price point, essentially. It pains me too, but its true. IU wouldnt get their weird micro how theater setup or anything like that but id imagine their soundbars are very "efficient"

As if by magic, BOSE cannot figure out sound reproduction in box speakers, only headphones. However B&W have somehow figured out both. You all are idiots that trash Bose for their speakers. Simply because they don't send their speakers out to be reviewed by reviewers that are all only in it for the SWAG. Bose are fantastic speakers. Top of the market for a reason. Claims are claims, repeat sales speak volumes.

Bose box speakers are actually quite mediocre. They use mediocre drivers and their design philosophy goes against the latest research of what people prefer in sound reproduction. Their core business is no longer box speakers. Car audio , followed by headphones is their bread and butter.

@@Audioholics Good point. However, they had always been at the forefront of innovation and as a business they have survived on legitimacy. Just because they cater to the market tend and not the snobbery that they are unfairly targeted by, the vocal minority. I blew many people away with my home theater of Sony tech and Bose drivers and JBL subs back in '08. I understand that they aren't industry leaders in every category. Not many companies can have their hands in so many markets like Sony and Samsung and LG have. Sony can decide at the drop of a hat to make the best product in any category from car audio to home theater. However the most successful companies are the ones that can see market trends ahead of the curve and innovate in a particular direction. (I'm looking at you 3D and curved panels 😉) Sony hasn't made a "new" line of processors because they haven't seen the need. I own their "2016" flagship model but it was manufactured in late 2019. Because the market has basically stood still since 4K tech released and 7.1.4 is holding strong and very few systems use the 13-15-18 channels that they try to claim as "NEW". HDMI 2.1 will be bleeding edge for a good long while still. Personally I'm glad to see these products on your channel. It's a nice diversion for those of us who will never come close to a house full of tech. 😊 There is a reason that some of the two channel manufacturers stay in their lane. Because they couldn't make a Dolby circuit or a decent remote control to save their life. They stick to the same old simplest of electrical amplification circuit designs and happily travel from ball room to ball room trying to impress their peers who are stuck in the 70s along side them. Then they fly home while listening to their Bose NC headsets, Samsung smart phones and watching Sony OLED televisions. - ✌🏼

@@jimmykaka89 Bose speakers are for those that want to hear accurate sound reproduction at a relatively approachable price with quality that is sufficient for the type and situation of the listening environment. I thought Sony WH-1000XM4 noise canceling headphones were #1 better than Bose 700 UC. Going by reviews not personal experience. Can you do a comparison with Sony & Bose noise canceling and sound please.
@KirkLazurus

Its nearly equal. The one that seals better on your head will provide more noise cancellation and isolation. I prefer the Sony's control scheme over the Bose. Another con of the Bose is that you have to give a lot of personal info access and permissions to use the Bose app to get the full functionality.

I'm really not all that versed in headphones to be quite honest. My limited experience has been isolated to the Sennheiser HD598 & HD700 models, aside from your cheap buds or the older Walkman on-ear style. I live in Oklahoma & our ability to experience sound in any format is extremely limited, so are they any headphones sub-$1000 that would be recommended for a wanna-be audiophile? I've heard good things about the planar models & of course the HD800 models, but I'm not totally sold that I would be spending my money wisely, since I really don't know much about what's out there. I'm not big of wireless or noise cancelling features & would prefer 1/4" analog connection w/ open back.

I used to have the Bose QC15, wore them out 8 years ago. I just got the Bowers & Wilkins last week but haven't heard them. Got them for my 17 yr old son. He loves them. His previous headset was Focal Listen Beyond wireless (got Christmas 2020) but he complained about no base and benign sound that wasn't enjoyable to him and he said they just didn't sound good. Same price range. So I got the B&W for him and took over the Focal Listen Beyond for work calls/meetings. Of note, for the previous 5-6 years we have had Samsung Level Over Ear headphones that they do not make anymore. The Bose technology of touching twice to pause and sliding up, down for volume is old. The 5-6 yr old Level Over had that technology. Also swiping ear cup for next or previous track. Level over had enough base and great sound but cheep material. I had 3 pair. 1 pair-my son broke early at the height adjustable clamp on the top piece. Second pair-also my son's, worn out the ear cups. the black ear piece material disintegrates and gets everywhere. One thing you did not point out in your video - The B&Ws have replaceable ear foam cups! So they won't be garbage when those wear out. I bought them to trade my son the B&W for Focal Listen Beyond. I haven't heard the B&W because my son is almost always wearing them. I am super happy that he likes them. However, before I could knock on his room door and he would answer. Now I must bang on it or he doesn't hear due to the noise cancellation. Which is great knowing that I wont' bother him when I watch a movie or make other noise, etc... I will just consider texting him instead of knocking. Regarding Focal, I have the Stellia (as shown in your video) for my Headphone music enjoyment. Unlike the Listen Beyond, the Stellia's are the most perfect listening experience I will likely ever have. I enjoyed your video. Bose Vs. Stellia? Consider your needs. I choose better sound every time.

@@Audioholics Can you hear better after ear wax extraction? Some experts estimate that removing an earwax plug can improve hearing by 10 decibels. (The difference between whispering and normal conversation is around 20 decibels.) Better hearing isn't the only benefit. “There may be an improvement in your balance,” Vaughan says.

I started with the B&O H9i’s as my first pair of ANC headphones, I then added the B&W PX7 and Bose NC700. I find the Bose more comfortable for extended listens and great all day office use, the additional mics are excellent for calls and video conferencing, and above all the sound is quite neutral but very detailed with good separation and layering . The PX7 has a darker sound signature with more low end extension, which can make them appear more lively depending on music selection, but the extra weight can cause them to be fatiguing over extended periods. The B&O H9i is somewhere in the middle with a slight emphasis on extended highs and lows and maybe falling short on overall detail and long term comfort, but still a very enjoyable listen. What I really liked about the H9i is the ability to replace the battery, a feature not seen in consumer grade ANC headphones and is sadly removed from B&O’s later generations. I own all 3 still and each has its strength snd weakness, but I think it’s definitely a toss up between the UC700 and PX7 and I’m still trying to figure out which I like more.

I sold mine px7 the second i put the bose 700 on my head. The px7 has no soundstage, the music is cramped, don't know how you can pick up the better detail on the px7 when it's so much audio in your face to even pick it out. Bose 700 is the more balanced headphone something like the h9. The px7 is the worde momentum 3 soundwise (which i own too).

They both suck compared to wired headphones at or below that price point. ANC is cool and all, but these tiny amps make all the current BT headphones sound pretty bad. I tried the B&W, had to rip them off my head and barf that is how bad they are IMHO. Even a 130 USD Beyerdynamic 770 walks all over them, and has 30 something dB passive NC.
