As the head cheerleader of Armageddon since the mid-90s, and someone who will add the geddon into every Old School and Premodern deck, i agree your with your ending conclusions. You absolutely cannot cast an Armageddon while you're behind or even at parity. Sometimes it isn't even enough to be ahead on board. Opponent can run two lands, plow your Serendib Efreet and drop a Lion and now you're behind with an Erhnam rotting in your hand and no lands. You need to be ahead and have a plan to stay ahead and then you can destroy everyone's lands. I've concluded that, even in dedicated geddon decks, the right number to run is 1.25. One isn't really enough because sometimes you want to close the game as soon as you're ahead, but two geddons is way too many. It can never catch you up when you're behind, and it doesn't help stabilize or pull ahead. Armageddon is a win-more card that can be useful in very niche positions. You play it because it's beautiful, you're a person who appreciates flavour and history, and you have one altered by Jesper Myrfors himself.

02:30 I remember starting to play vintage a few years ago and wondered why Gush was a good card, the first game I played a delver deck, I had 2 lands and wanted to play a 3 drop. I casted Gush, ended up mana positive the round I played, then the next turn I had my other land back in play, netting 1 mana and drawing 2 cards. Absolutely insane.

I actually think the last opponent might be a secretly genius comedian. Psychic Frog is excellent, but legacy content creators tend to go off the rails describing its power level, Bosh included and especially. A single connect is literally always paired with "well I lost" or "I win." Conceding a match to a countered frog into stuck frog is actually just the perfect meme in that zeitgeist.

Another noteworthy card in the prismatic lense slot would be some mix of borderposts. They synergize with Armageddon much like fathom seer does by having the alternate casting condition of pay 1 and pick up a land. They do notably enter tapped though.

You could use solar transformer over the prismatic lens. It enters tapped but Grants energy for wrath of the skies and is a 5 colour source thereafter which could be nice

Produces one color and comes to play tapped, has an okay synergy with 2 cards in deck. Looks strong against wasteland but actually weak at producing mana so if your other land getting wasted it's devastating. I'd say play 0 for power and 2 for the memes, which this deck kinda might want 😊😂

That second game really highlights why I hate decks with Psychic Frog... You splash a color for exactly two cards (being generous including Prismatic), and it totally transforms games. Psychic frog just totally takes over games and can take a control deck and put them on the beatdown instantly upon being resolved. Nothing against Bosh, I just hate watching gameplay with psychic frog. Feels like an unfair "I win" button.
