so many people hating on BOSS, yet so many classics were created with them

Whenever I hear a chorus pedal I think of Crowded House's "Don't Dream Its Over."

I love this video. It actually showcases the sounds that the pedal makes instead of the sounds coming out of the mouth of the owner with all their BLAH BLAH BLAH...YADDA YADDA..TALK TALK TALK.

Man, I love me some chorus. 80's and 90's jamming wouldn't be complete without one.

Was already seriously considering this pedal, the Rush at the end sold it for me.

@MusicAndDaren - Boss didn't pay anything. We did this video to mix things up a little bit, and because we carry and like Boss products. They make many fine, indestructible effects for the working person. And if you look at the pedalboards of the pros, almost all of them have at least one or two Boss pedals. -PGS

it sounds nice. i don't really like chorus so much and when i do i like analog ones more because it tends to sound less cheesy to me, but this actually sounds great. i've come to the conclusion you can probably make any piece of shit sound good. people are trashing boss, but you could take this audio and throw it over some boutique pedal video and people would say it sounded amazing;

So nice to see PGS doing a demo of a Boss pedal. I love Boss pedals. Please do more Andy. You did such an excellent job demo-ing this CH-1... I'm sure you can do all the others equal justice. I loved the Rush Subdivisions section. That sounded awesome!
@Themachinegun14 жыл бұрын
I love you guys. Thanks for "keeping it real". Yea, I got some serious high end pedals. I've also got inexpensive Boss pedals that I'm never going to sell. I've got a Danelectro Psycho flange that I love. Is it a clean as some others? NO,but it has the sound I'm looking for.... bottom line... if you can get the sound you need stick with that what ever it cost.

What I always forget is that A is modulated and B is dry when using in stereo mode... Also, when using in stereo mode, the effects level knob should be set to the maximum (wet). Hooking up this chorus pedal to a DD7 in stereo mode sounds awesome!

I have two of these, dont ask me why - I dont like either. Its not the chorus itself but I just always found them to do that softening, compressed and nasal boss thing to the signal, that deadens the guitar signal to my ears. I d be quite happy to use them in a proper dry/wet loop tho

The truth is this pedal actually sounds good, yes its a boss who cares! It sounds like a chorus should! I think most people would be hard pressed to actually tell the difference between this and some 300 hundred dollar chorus for many of the sounds anyway. It is what it is

I own both. I had the Black Label before the Super Chorus. Depends on your taste. I felt the modulation of the BLC was too harsh and almost scooped to me. The Super Chorus works better for what I need. I'd say check out the Super Chorus unless you want a darker tone. Then get the BLC. Zakk used a CH-1 for 20 years before designing the BLC so it's not too far off either way!! Good luck.

Well, they use Ibanez TS-9 (or the TS9DX possibly) Tubescreamer pedals, which are overdrive pedals. I own the TS9 (bought it cause I'm a big Offspring fan :P), and you can get a pretty close sound with the pedal alone, even better if you mess with the settings on your amp too. But, it'll run you around $120, so your best bet if you can't afford that, might be a Boss overdrive pedal - something like the Boss Super Overdirve, which is $50-$60
@PRSguy9413 жыл бұрын
@Saesangism Fat chance. But there are some great CE-2 clones out there. Check out the Build Your Own Clone chorus pedals. Their pretty good if your handy with a soldering iron. But PGS has some pretty cool chorus pedal demos already, so I would recommend checking those out to see what your EAR likes.

I think it's great PGS takes this classic pedal out for a demo. And it sounds great too, I like the transparency, your original signal remains audible even at higher intensity settings. I Guess there's a reason why pros like Satriani and Zakk Wylde are using it...

no description lol, i personally think mxr is way to go cuz of their tributes to Dime :P (even though i don't plan on getting the dime dist or wah)
@chuck900014 жыл бұрын
@ProGuitarShopDemos Of course there is no wrong or right way, it depends on what you are going for. Typically though to get the most pronounced signal alteration out of any modulation effect it is best to place it after the distorted sound in the signal chain, and if one is using the drive on the amp then I would place the modulation effect in the effects loop so as not to diminish the modulation effect. This is pretty rudimentary.
