I have a similar problem, maybe you can fix it by downloading a HARMAN 2020 version of adobe air

Install of the system 1.09 was un successful. Dragged the two files in the ver 1.09 folder to the desk top GT-1 desk top icon, as per instruction on website.. Message "devive not connected" apeared on the PC. The unit said USB connected.Where do i copy those two files?

Hi there. Thanks for your comment and question. Make sure that you've done everything they tell you, on Boss' webpage. Let me list the steps here, so you can double check your process: 1. Download the Update File. 2. Please open/extract the downloaded "gt1_sys_v109.zip" file on your computer to get the two update files named "ROMINFO.TXT" and "GT-1ROM.BIN" in the "gt1_sys_v109" folder. 3. Please install the extracted system program files into your GT-1 according to the following procedure. 4. Hold down the [ EXIT ] button and connect a cable to the INPUT jack to turn on the power. The message "GT-1 Updater" will appear on the display. 5. Connect the computer to the GT-1's USB port by a USB cable. The message "USB Connected." will appear on the display. 6. Open the BOSS_GT-1 icon. "Removable Disk (*:)" may appear instead of the BOSS_GT-1 icon. 7. Copy (drag and drop) all the files included in the "gt1_sys_v109" folder into the "BOSS_GT-1" icon. * Do not copy the "gt1_sys_v109" folder. 8. Disconnect the BOSS_GT-1 from the computer. With Windows 10 / Windows 8 / Windows 7 Right-click on the "BOSS_GT-1" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject." With Mac OS Drag the "BOSS_GT-1" icon to the Trush icon in the Dock. 9. Disconnect the USB cable. The message "Push [ENTER] to start." will appear on the display. 10. Press [ ENTER ] button to start the update process. 11. The message "Completed." will appear on the display when the update process completes. 12. Turn the GT-1 power off. Please verify the version number "1.07" with the procedure described in "How to tell the version" part of this document. I hope this will help. Best regards.

A Factory Reset will, yes, an update shouldn't, but I would back all patches up anyway, always. I hope this helps.

Hi there, David. Thanks for your comment and question. When the GT-1 is connected to the PC it should automatically find and install the driver. You should be able to see the GT-1 driver in the list of your device drivers, on your computer, when the GT-1 is connected via USB. Once that is done, you should download Boss Tone Studio, so you can easily import, export and edit patches. All the files are found on Boss' webpage, under the GT-1's product page. Make sure to have Adobe Air installed, for the installation to work. I hope this works. Let me know if you need anything else. Best regards.

Hi, That's probably because you need to download Adobe Air. Try searching Google, for example "Adobe Air Download". From what I remember it should now be the Harman group that has Adobe Air, but I'm sure it'll all come up, when you search. I hope this helps. Best regards.

Can you please make a video on "HOW TO CONNECT BOSS GT 100 latest ver 2.10/2.12 TO BOSS TONE STUDIO ver 1.13 IN WINDOWS 10/11 USING THE LATEST GT 100 DRIVER ver 2.1?" It always shows connection failure even after doing everything correctly as instructed..i have not able to solve this for a very long time Downloaded and installed all firmware and drivers up to date (latest).. I Search for help everywhere I could but in vain.. it didn't solve the issue.. I see in your video that you are able to use Boss tone studio . Would you mind making a video ? It would be really helpful for many of us who are facing this connection failure issue..

Hi there i have done it on mac all you really need to do is make sure that its at least on ver 1.08 and plug it in your mac and use garage band that all it was so easy.

Hi man, I hope you're doing well. I've been messing around with the GT-1 for quite some time now, and I like it a lot, but I do have a question regarding a sound I'm getting. With a lot of the factory presets and also some of the patches that I've created, there's this sound that I get, which I can best describe as a digital static sound or a digital frying sound. Is there a reason that this is happening and is there any way to fix this issue? At first, I thought it was because of the preamp I was using or because I was using distortion or something, but it's also happening on some of the clean patches, so I could use your input as to what's happening. Thanks in advance.

@@GuitarNTabsThis is happening when I run the GT-1 into the aux of my fender champion 50 xl. I’m basically just using the amp as a speaker. I haven’t checked the gain level on the patches, but I don’t think it’s too high. Each preset is only using the onboard preamp on the GT-1 and there are not multiple overdrives or distortions activated.

@@moisestsuzuki - Thanks for clearing things up. Maybe try and take a patch, and initialize it, and start completely from scratch, to see what that does. It could also be a grounding issue, either from your guitar and its pickups, or one of your wall sockets.
