Ok, so this video is exactly what I wanted. Thank you! There’s almost too much stuff going on for me though…just an almost 60 year old bluegrass guy that needs a bad ass delay for when I play the Strat at church. It’s definitely spaced out enough though. Thank you either way!!! 🎸

I agree that Boss "Space Echo" is a good alternative to the real old SE. But "Korg" Echo Machine with its sound on sound was also a very good!! So long friends of music..

Is it just me or it does not have a real stereo separation? It sounds like dual mono to me

The reverb has a little stereo separation I believe, but the delay is just dual mono

It doesn't ping pong, if that's what you're asking. But it's not supposed to. But yes, there is stereo channel separation on this pedal.

Yep, the Space Echo as effect is essentially mono, but I think people at Roland/Boss (gladly) decided to keep the stereo I/O as in the RE-20 for better compatibility with other gear, such as stereo pedals, stereo amps, and keyboards or synths (all those things for which Roland is well-known too!).

Even with the tone turned down, the repeats sound so piercing and idk if I like that. It makes it sound overly digital. I feel like there are pedals that can do the same stuff with better algos for cheaper.

I turn the tone all the way counterclockwise and the repeats (as intended) lose high end frequencies. Great for darker echos that sit in the background of my playing.
