This is why so many people want the death sentence. Now the tax payers get to house, feed, clothe, shelter and care for this person's health for years to come.

I'm of the mind that an active shooter should never be taken alive... it's obvious he's guilty, so why go through the bother and expense of a long, drawn out trial involving all the resources that other people need and want? It doesn't make sense... 😞

I was in the Neptune Mountaineering parking lot when that happened like 100 yards away in King Soopers. Crazy that this took almost 4 years to reach a verdict. I hope the victims and the rest of the Boulder Community can get some closure from this, after so long.

Next 9NEWS or anyone else. I believe the reason they didn't have any mental health experts Clinical psychologists etc. Is because the family got sick and tired of taking care of the person and Knew someday that he would do something horrific. And an not fighting this course in court. They knew he would be put in prison for life and no longer a danger to others. I know a lot about Mental Illness and the dangers of others.

Giving him a "life sentence" in that state would probably mean that in about 25 years he'd be eligible for parole.... You don't want that, right? So they sentenced him in a way that would prevent parole eligibility in that state.

Our society is sick. These men are not evil. There’s a reason mass shootings were rare when I was little and everyday now. It’s happening in the US and spreading to other countries. We need to examine as a society why these are people are going on shooting sprees in public places. It’s not the guns. Humans have had guns a long time, and this is new. I’m sure the violent video games these young men play contribute to this phenomenon. But I think it’s way bigger than that. Definitely has to do with how isolated we are now, without close community that supports all its members. But even bigger than that. Thoughts? I was on my way to the store minutes before this when my toddler started howling so I turned around to put him down for a nap. When I was done, 20 mins later, there were emergency vehicles lining our street.😢 I was very impacted by this, too, and just want to understand why these are happening so we can prevent them.
