hi Lina, great presentation thank you… is it better to use either one of these brushes rather than the Denman brush?
@Linas_lovelylocks10 ай бұрын
Great question! I tend to refer the results I get with Boar bristle brushes a little better. But they do all give his results. It just depends on personal preference. Boar bristle brushes tend to smooth a little better and give more tension. The Tension gives me better curls, but if you're hair is more prone to breakage, less tension is better.

I bought the brush when it first came out. I used it a few times. I didn't think it was wll that great. I was just about to give it away. After watching your video, I thought I would give the brush another try. I find it works great for the majority of my hair, also making sure my hair is soaking wet and has enough product. I like brushing styling my hair with a light weight gel. But when it comes to my top section, where it's mostly grey, my boar bristle/nylon brush (I have GSQ by Glamsqaud for just $13.50! I and I love it!} works best. So it is true, it's a journey. Experimenting and finding out what works for your hair.

That's good to know that it didn't work as well in your gray areas! And that's definitely true. Figuring out what your hair needs is such a journey! So much goes into it. Especially since everyones hair is different and everyone has different preferences. I'm glad that you've figured out what works best for you and your hair. ☺

You said your hair doesn't spiral well in general on the left but it looks like it naturally coils outwards on the left but you've brushed your coils inwards and so they're getting flattened out. I have this same issue, I have to brush my left side coils inwards and my right side coils outwards. Worth a try! :)
@Linas_lovelylocks9 ай бұрын
I have actually tried brushing both directions to see what works better and to be honest...it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Normally I do go in from the back on the left, but I will admit, I did get a little lazy this time. 😂

That's definitely fair. I find having bigger sections help. But I could see looser textures finding this brush not working the best for them. 👍

I bit the bullet and got that brush too😂! I used a code & paid $27 ( I think.) I absolutely love it. I also have the Sassoon brush and love it. The BC brush just seems to make the styling go faster for me. Brush styling does keep my hair smoother with frizz. I think the volume was better with the BC brush. Have you tried styling your hair with the BC on one side & the Sassoon on the other. It would be interesting to see. I may try it on my own. Either way, your curls are beautiful! Tfs! Blessings!
@Linas_lovelylocks10 ай бұрын
I noticed that too that it made styling go quicker. I'll have to use it a few more times but I really liked it. I used to do side by side comparisons, but the texture on my left side is so different that it doesn't work very well. It's unfortunate, but part of why I started doing my current format. I wish I could do side by sides. They're much easier to see the difference that way.

@Linas_lovelylocks9 ай бұрын
Thanks! I really like the keys on necklaces for some reason 😂 I have several. I couldn't give you an exact link for this one because my sis bought it for me from a renaissance fair, but if you look up "antique key necklace" you can find a lot of cool ones. I have some that are bronze and some that are silver, so you could throw in a color if you have a preference. As for the mermaid statue, I bought that in a store while on vacation a while back. But I bet if you look up "bronze mermaid statue" you could find something similar. I do take my own pictures. ☺ the key is to take a ton 😂 I tend to take somewhere between 20-30 and then sort through them. I'll typically find a couple that I like that way.

I heard bouncecurl is working on different spacing between the ridges on the brush. Closer together for coily hair and farther apart for wavy hair. I keep seeing this brush everywhere and may try it out once they release a wavy version. Lol I dont ever even brush style maybe once every 6 months. It would be nice to see how the brush does with the treluxe mousse! That mousse gives the best clumps
@Linas_lovelylocks10 ай бұрын
I've heard that too though I have no idea how long it'll be. It would be interesting to compare the wavy one with the curly one on my hair when they finally come out. But yeah... I'm not sure it would be worth it if you rarely brush style XD I'm curious to see how it works with the Treluxe mousse too. I'll have to give it a try. That and the Verb foam. I plan on trying that soon, so I guess we'll find it then in that one. ☺️

Hey. Thank you for the video. Do you ever use a leave in and if so do you find they affect the styling results. ??? X 🎉Jonathan
@Linas_lovelylocks10 ай бұрын
I personally don't really use leave in conditioners. When I do, I use ones that are more liquidy. Whether or not you use them depends on what your hair needs. If it needs a lot if moisture, go for it. Mine doesn't really and if I use a leave in conditioner, it weighs my hair down and leads to moisture overload. If I do need the moisture, I'm more l likely to reach for a cream or curl activator to help with clumping and definition. But again, it really depends on your hairs needs.
@ritabrandow13187 ай бұрын
What is a curl activator please?
@Linas_lovelylocks7 ай бұрын
@@ritabrandow1318 That's a great question! I will say a big part of it is marketing. You could argue it's another word for a curl cream. The differences I've found though are that curl activators tend to be slightly lighter weight. They're also more likely to have hold ingredients. A lot of curl creams do have these as well, but not all of them. Whereas all curl activators I've tried have them. I would also say that curl activators MAIN purpose is definition whereas curl creams tend give you both moisture and definition. Not to say that curl activators don't give you moisture. They definitely do. Curl creams just tend to give you more. I hope that helps!

Is it with boar bristles? Then how is it vegan?

The bristles are imitation boar bristle made from plastic. They aren't real boar hair, but have a very similar texture and a similar effect on the hair.

@Linas_lovelylocks9 ай бұрын
I actually disagree. I've found that different brushes do make my hair behave differently. I think it comes down to how picky you are and what exactly your goals are for your hair. Some brushes give more definition while others give more volume. And with handle styling, shape does matter. I did a video a while back comparing two brushes and using the handle to wrap around. Especially with my looser texture, if the brush handle isn't rounded enough, then they turn out really wonky. That being said, there really are a lot of great brushes out there and nobody needs this brush. Other's work just as well. Mainly I like this one because of the grooves in the side. It helps create clumps that aren't too big or too small which helps me get more volume. As for the vegan aspect, I always mention it because it does matter to some people and I like to give them that info in case it does. Also in this case, the vegan boar bristles tend to cause less damage than real boar bristles. So they are nice to have, even if you aren't vegan.

I'd already ordered my brush, I just wanted to see what results others were getting. I wasn't ready for this. I would climb the tallest mountain, scale the sky itself straight to heaven, kill god, claim his holy mantle and take the celestial throne if it meant I had the power to make my hair look like that. I would collapse the universe back into a singularity if it meant that even for a second, before time itself stopped existing, I had that much body and volume.
