Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Fran! I was wondering: could you do a series, where you explain the trade mark styles of boxing’s greats. I’m especially interested in your take on Mike Tysons style, techniques and training methods... and also weakpoints a opponent might be able to exploit. Thank you, Frank

Fran Sands, first off, amazing video! I love doing your drills at home to supplement my kickboxing training at the gym. I use "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast." all the time, as well. Especially when giving pointers to newcomers who want to learn to kick properly. I got the impression that you listen too much to the trolls. In my opinion, you are the most no-nonsense online coach. Good work. If you watch Lomo in slo mo you can reverse engineer what he does. I assume that's why he had his first knockdown. Most other boxers are flailers compared to him. You see them waiting to get the knockout shot while he hits them again and again until some of them quit before the end of the fight. The key is to practice slo mo without a bag to program your body.
@LeBlakout4 жыл бұрын
The guy who posted that comment obviously hasnt been in a real gym where you get taught we talk for about 3 or 5 minutes before every new drill and break it down so we fully understand every single movement involved and needed to execute the combination efficiently

Great video. I encourage people to become comfortable fighting both orthodox and southpaw and working seamless transitions. This not only allows great angles like your video demonstrated and gives the ability to use Lomas famous pivot ON BOTH SIDES. He is a genius in the ring, very fun to watch. I like the way you broke down the footwork

@jakecutting72273 жыл бұрын
Top Drawer…. The talking is spot on. Coaching involves lots of talking to engage the different learners e.g kinaesthetic, etc. Not just the coach but the participants through Q&A Each of these coaching points can be broken down into sections of the sessions. 2 min rounds, 3-4 rounds in between each round add the coaching points and any observations from the group. Top stuff thank you

Coach, don't ever apologize to these idiots for 'talking too much'... The more verbal instructions that accompany the biomechanics the better! 🥊🥊🇳🇿🥝

No apology needed ,some people want instant gratification and aren't willing to go the journey. My question is I see Demitrious Bivo really plant his rear foot in his fighting stance. When ducking and slipping I feel off balance at the slip moment wit my rear heel lifted. What's wrong with the heel going down at the end of the duck/slip?

@optimusprime6994 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your videos they are great, I have a question about headaches, sorry I know this was not the topic of your video but I couldn’t see anything on your account and I find your advice really very good. I have sparred a quite a few times and couple times So far I’ve had bad headache. I had a spar 2 days ago and the guy couldn’t hit me as I and good at slipping then countering and I was landing some shots about 35% power flicking them out there, light sparring, he is a-bit of an angry guy from what I have seen when he’s on the hand pads...andi think he got frustrated with missing and being countered (I wasn’t being a dick, I’m actually told of for being too nice to people in sparring). anyways he went mental throwing straight bombs and I caught a few clean on the jaw and nose bridge, temple, I had no head guard on cuz light sparring supposedly. Since then I had head aches like dull and dizziness randomly kinda like I’m drunk feeling which comes and goes on and off and my right eye was going noticeably blurry. We have sparring again next week and I will definitely return power (I kept composed and continued with my pace and power as this guy is quite abit older than me, only has private’s and the gym owners childhood friend). Now I truly love boxing but brain damage does worry me, and my head is feeling pretty weird like this after eating only a handful of hard shots and not from a seasoned fighter it’s got me thinking is my body not able to sustain boxing. I have had some bad street fights where I’ve been jumped in the past and been battered to we’re my face in just a mess, and huge car crash....maybe damage from them accumulating which is why I am getting the head aches and dizziness/ drunk feeling? Or is it normal? Everyone is excited to see me fight in the next couple months and I dont want to let everyone down, but I don’t want to end up messed up my health....anyone else experience this? Am I just being a overthinking pussy?
@myboxingcoach4 жыл бұрын
You're not an overthinking pussy - anyone who isn't concerned about the potential for head injury is an idiot. Sounds to me like you have a mild concussion, so if symptoms persist you need to get yourself to your doctor. Tell your coach, he/she needs to know. If you came to me I would not let you spar for at least a couple of weeks. I'm not a medical professional so cannot advise whether some people are more susceptible to concussions than others...that's a question for your doctor. Hope this helps mate.
