Agree, I had a friend who married a guy like this. She was miserable as he always did what he wanted, almost never what she wanted. He refused to hang out with her family, but expected her to be best friends with his Mom. My wife had a big family party. They were invited and apparently he did not want to come. He sat in a corner and pouted the entire day. He kept asking his wife if she was done yet? He asked her to.leave several times. She said not until the party was over. It was some sort of birthday party if I recall. Well my mother was there. She asked me if he was sick or depressed. I laughed and said no, he just hates his wife's side of the family. My mother gave me that crazy grin she would often get. Yikes. So she goes over and sits next to him on the couch. She pretty much corners him in so he can't easily get up and then she turns on her charm. Dude almost messed his pants. Mom is violating b his personal space and asking tough questions. Why are you acting like a two year old? Do you love your wife? Would it hurt you to actually talk to other people? Mom was actually much nicer than she can easily be. Guy was so embarrassed and definitely wanted to get out of there. Well he did stay the entire party. He met as few other guys and got into some sport discussions. So he was opening up. He never ever went to a party where my Mom was invited again. Lol. He had as weird personality. I didn't hate him, but would never be as friend with him either. He just always said something very weird. At his wife's fathers funeral after dinner he announced during the meal that since I was the oldest person in the room, that I was going to be the next to die and how did I feel about that? Mind you this was at a restaurant in a back room, but many people heard his comments. Like I said, not my favorite person. RIP dude. .

I've said this before about pregnancy tests. They have a time limit set by the manufacturer in the instructions. Even if not pregnant, an average healthy woman will produce enough Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (pregnancy hormones) naturally to turn most tests positive if you leave them for long enough. As such, the result is only accurate for a short period of time (between 3 and 10 minutes). So a pregnancy test found in a bin would be no indicator of pregnancy even if the damn thing said positive anyway - in fact, most pregnancy tests found in bins WILL look positive. OP should just have said, "Well it was negative when I threw it away" and then played innocent.

Story 1: seems apparent that the BF is an introvert, while OP and her family are extroverts. I had an ex who was also like this, low effort. He was a good man, kind and sweet, and we are both introverted who likes staying at home. But even I wanted to go out on dates and hang out, I still like visiting friends and family from time to time, but he didn't really care about that and just wanted to stay home to game, but get disappointed when I did want to go out or had to do errands or drive to another town, because he wants me to either watch him game or game with him. He even kept forgetting my birthday, and marked it on his calendar wrong, and when I pointed it out to him, he got furious with me and blamed me for my birthday being on the wrong date. I broke up with him realizing this was not what I wanted, I wanted a partner to do things with and experience life together and have adventures. Thankfully, I found someone just like that and is everything I ever wanted and needed, absolutely romantic and outgoing and clearly puts effort into the relationship. The second story blew my mind. Long story, but I had recently been staying with a friend for 16 months. During that time it never once even OCCURRED to me that I could snoop. Even when alone at hers. I also know 100% that she wouldn't mind if I looked through drawers for scissors, tape measure ect (just examples), but I ALWAYS asked beforehand, despite knowing the answer. Story 1: is literally a case of valuing different things. This is why you need to find someone who has the same values as you. My girl and i love staying at home and playing games or chilling and going for a walk from time to time with the rare event besides that. It works well for us. My ex wife was a massive extrovert and had to go out every weekend and visit family every weekend which i hate doing both. I am happy seeing family once ever quarter and that is good for me. Everyone is different and OP simply picked someone not suited to her lifestyle.

Story one makes me think of my current situation. My husband is breaking vows and drinking heavily daily. He is not treating me properly. When I reach the point of having enough of it all I really believe that he will be shocked. The deep love I had for him is dying a slow death. The need to protect and preserve myself is growing stronger and will win out.

Wow! Re: the last story, you are allowed to put anything at all into your trash can in your private bedroom. You should be able to assume no one will ever see it. If someone without any business being in your bedroom sees something in your trash and jumps to conclusions about it, that's not you being manipulative. That's an invasion of privacy and nothing more. I can't see anyone other than MIL getting crap for that. She was in the wrong. She snooped. She jumped to conclusions. Worst of all, she selfishly announced what she assumed was your pregnancy to the entire family without consent! That is antisocial disordered behavior! She didn't even have the sense to cover up the fact that she was snooping by keeping what she discovered to herself....did she just casually tell everyone what she "found out while snooping?" 😑

My SIL is very much the go-multiple-places-in-one-day kind and just the thought of everything she does exhausts me. My husband and I are homebodies. I think if you’re a homebody dating a goer, it’s going to be a rough fit. But yes, “inconvenient time to text you”? Why, is your gf there? “I feel like a kid that missed an assignment and you’re the teacher”? For a once a month reminder? And how does he “just happen” to always be “on call” when it’s your family trip? Me, I prefer frequent reminders, because I have squirrel brain lol. He wanted as much bachelor time as he could get? If you really had been pregnant, what a breech of trust, privacy, and boundaries all in one! Tell your husband you didn’t spread lies: you planted false information and waited to see if the bait was taken. (I used to do this with fake diaries. Always knew who was reading it by what they believed.) And oh look, it was MIL just as you suspected! If she hadn’t been snooping in your room, there would have been no harm done. Now she needs to leave and find somewhere else to be. And if he’s on her side, he can go with her. Demanding you take a test in front of him? Hard no, but he’s welcome to shove the test up his ass and see what result that gets him. Even if you were pregnant, how fucking dare he?? As long as MIL is there, I would refrain from having sex. For one thing, are you sure you want to be tied to both her and your psycho husband for the rest of your life? But for another: she’s already proved she’s not above snooping (and spilling your secrets). If she’s that baby crazy, what would she do to your birth control if she found it?

1) It seems like OP has seen that this is not a relationship to continue, she needs a partner, not a grown child of a guy who does not value her and care about her feelings, wants her to stop doing what she enjoys so he needn't be at all pushed from his comfort zone.
