YORK (Holgate Bridge Junction) in FEBRUARY 1987
Further up the ECML later in the cold month of February I popped into York. Positioned along the railway (Then a favourite spotting place for the local enthusiasts) With an iconic panorama of the famous station with the Minster beyond made a superb photographic picture. No less than 3 class 08's on duty were recorded and a wonderful cavalcade hauled by a pair of 20's trundled through and under Holgate Bridge. Trans Penine services were in the hands of "Peaks" just and several workings were witnessed coming around the curve by the junction. No overhead wires yet but not too far away in the future.
