I got a water flosser before my dentist appointment and I had been using an electric tooth brush and the GUM brand soft picks on my teeth and flossed in the areas that I was able to and my dental hygienist gassed me up so much about how great my teeth were. Before my last appointment they’d always say the usual like “make sure you are flossing because you had a couple of 4mm pockets which indicates that you might be getting gum disease”. So I just thought, “hmmm why don’t I try actually listening to the people that have degrees in this stuff so I don’t lose my teeth”🧚

lmaoo same i started using my water flossed again and my dentist and her helper where telling me i had beautiful teeth i was surprised ash. my orthodontist place ghetto ash they never tell me anything 💀

You can't imagine Whitney how much I owe to you. I used to brush daily in the morning but not at night. I did many years ago but some weird thing got into my head that brushing at night creates insomnia. So I left that. But recently I had a very bad tooth ache in my lower right first molar which already has a cavity filling. Since I have no medical insurance and was 1000kms away from the dentist that did my fillings so I refrained from going to any dentist as I thought my tooth requires a root canal now. And I wasn't ready to spend that much money. I took a shortcut and started taking Ketorol-DT and having Clove all the time on that area. To reduce pain psychologically I started watching root canal videos. Tooth extraction videos. Then you came into my life and changed my perspective for the best. You made brushig fun for me. You introduced me to flossing. You showed me how important our teeth are and how much I neglected them all these years. When I returned home I watched your videos on tartar/calculus. I watched some more videos on how dentists/hygienists remove it. That time, don't know what happened to me, I took a paper cutter blade and used it to remove tartar that was behing my lower frontal teeth. In less than an hour I myself removed it almost completely. A lot of blood came out but no pain. I was shocked to see the extracted material. I felt a new source of energy in me. I promised then and there to brush daily twice , in morning and at night. And since I had no floss available to me so I took plastic thread and used it as floss. It has been 8 days since that fortunate incident and I have brushed 7 nights out of it and strive to brush every night. When I brush or even think of my teeth I always remember you and your fun loving soulful nature. Everytime I thank you for bringing a positive change in me. I've heard hygienist appreciate it if you get your arch wires out before your cleaning if you are able to do so. It makes the hygienist job much easier!

A water pic is a must for when having braces! Is a live saver to take all the food left over inside the braces and between the wire , but I dont think it replace floosing, peopke you should use both as she said.

Thank you so much !! I had braces years ago and I didn't clean my teeth properly but I paid the price after taking them off. Now I have braces again but on my top teeth. I'm gonna follow all these tips so my teeth can look the best when I take them off! Also , Emma is so so beautiful !!!!!

Hmm, a question, I thought the Waterpik Waterflosser can replace the traditional string flossing? Why do we need to water floss and then string floss? I tried string flossing once before I got my Waterpik Waterflosser and it was sooo hard and it took forever! And that was just teeth number one! Hey girl! Good question! Sometimes water flossing is enough! But, sometimes it's not if the patient is super prone to caries! It's absolutely determined on an individual basis - so you should always ask your dentist/dental hygienist their recommendation for you! I found it safer to include both in this particular video! :)

I have this problem i Brush and floss properly my teeth are clean but when I'm changing my wire each month there's plaque in the area of the bracket the plaque is not on my teeth but on the wire where I can't reach with my toothbrush and it also smells a bit when she's taking the wire out is this because I have I don't use a water pik

so i use a prescribed toothpaste at night, no whitening agents. but its only meant to use at night, so i use the toothpaste that my mother uses and its a whitening toothpaste...am i in trouble? ive had braces for almost a year and i just realized ive been using a whitening toothpaste in the morning for so long! wouldnt the toothpaste just wash away since im using it in the morning?

always ask your dental provider for their opinion regarding your individual mouth - and it sounds like I wouldn't worry - rinsing it away in the mornings is all good! :)
