One of the greatest American rock vocalists ever. He's my #1 American vocalist and tragically underrated. Incredible voice and a tragic loss. We've never recovered from his loss and never will.

No doubt. Brad's lead vocals should be talked about in the same breath that Steve Perry or Lou Gramm are mentioned. Truly one of my favorite rock and roll voices ever.

I remember the first time I heard Boston on the radio back in 76 when I was a new drummer practicing in my bedroom with my little stereo system. I was so blown away that I called all my musician friends to tell them to turn on the radio quick. I'd never heard a sound like that or a singer that could hit those high notes with such soul. I sat by the radio for a couple of hours waiting for Smokin to play again , and it did. I bought the record the next day and still get chills to this day every time I play any song from that first album. I still have the original vinyl It's a masterpiece and so is Brad. Sleep well Mr. Delp.

The Man with the Golden Voice, that was Brad Delp. I always thought the Boston song "A Man I will Never Be" from "Don't Look Back" was about him after learning the reasons he left us. Maybe Tom wrote it about Brad. It's hard to believe he didn't have real self belief, he was so incredibly talented. But lack of self worth is often part of depression. I suffer from similar issues and they are hell to deal with on a daily basis. RIP Brad, you are missed by so many.

I remember very well as this was the year I also performed on stage. I remember thinking to myself, how the hell can I sit up here and play piano after Brad Delp?! What an amazing talent and such a tremendous loss to us all.

I was 6 when Brad died, but after spending several hours listening to his music, (whether it was during a night drive or when I was running), I have come cherish this guy and the band Boston. Seems like he was a wonderful person with a warm heart. I can relate to almost each of the songs he has sung - as they have been a big help as I am entering my 20s.

“Their will be no sorrow”, heartbreaking when you think about what Brad was going through and what finally took him to a place he could stand no longer. Depression is a killer, it can take our brightest stars from us, we need to conquer it, “their will be an answer, let it be.”.

His voice is similar to Maccas. He just sings with such ease. Very melodic and flowing and he was obviously a big Beatles fan. RIP Brad Delp- The music will live on!

Best rock vocalist---Brad or Steve(Perry)? My vote goes to Mr. Delp!!!
@CamiMack56163 жыл бұрын
Two very different vocal styles, each in a class by themselves.

Steve Walsh is way better than those two. However, Delp and Perry are my two favorite vocalists after Steve Walsh. Check out Kansas's song called Journey from Mariabronn, and you'll be truly blown away by Walsh's vocal prowess. In the final epic, soaring segment of the song, he literally sings like a bird. When I first heard it, I thought it was a synth instrument, but it turned out to be just him.
