I pondered the question of using the best braided fishing line color as I started to change out my fishing line at the end of the season and decided to use color to organize. Does the color matter to fish? Heresy! It turns out that it probably does not... the color just turns black the farther it sinks. Given this, I decided to use colors to organize my reels with different breaking strengths of braid matched to different power rods - light, medium, etc. lol... fish do not know what line is. If they will ignore a popping cork, why would seeing line bother them?
Here are a few articles that confirm color does not matter much. Obviously, there is another school of thought on this... but I think that is overthinking the problem. Are you really going to change color when conditions change? You would need a lot of reels/spare spools with different color options to follow that line of thought!
