This song is programmed entirely on KURZWEIL K2000, no external synths, samplers or FX processors used. Recorded directly from K2000 audio output. Track is based on VAST engine programs (basses, pads, leads, percussions, sound effects) and loaded samples (drum loops, guitars, sound effects), using K2000's internal sequencer and FX processor.

Thanks mate! Yes, only single K2000 there, nothing else. Please read the description under the video (some samples also loaded, like drum loops etc). This is very flexible synth - I have one hour long demo about Kurz, which shows most of abilities of VAST engine. But anyway, that's a good idea to read the manual :) Cheers!

yeah ! .. luv the Monumental retro style, and the abstract SFX .. hmm, am becoming increasingly intrigued by the possibilities of carefully considered panning as an active element within the 'symbolic nebula' of a track .. 99.999 % are essentially thinking monophonically, don't u reckon ? :)

Hi ! This track was created in year 1998 or 1999 as far as I remember - I just bought a K2000 synth. I spent all my time, days and nights, learning VAST synthesis, sampling part and sequencer of Kurzweil.... That was a great time with so much fun.

I would like to make a lessons about K2000 synthesis, but there is one problem - English is not my native language. I can read and write fluent, but I can't speak good enough to make tutorials, unfortunatelly. If I do something, it must be perfect, but this is not the case. Anyway, I truly suggest you to start with reading User Manual and keep your K2000 besides you, to try everything step by step. VAST is complex, but not complicated - for me it is the most logical and well organized synth I ever touched. After some time you will see that too. Cheers

@@_oscillator Hey man thanks for replying, np on that. I haven't received my k2000 yet. it is coming with its manuals and everything.. sure i will try to do that.. I have some experience of programming a yamaha dx100 and korg m1. do you think that will help here? btw again i would say.. brother you have harnessed the power of this device really well.
@Arsalan-Pervez
@Arsalan-Pervez 3 жыл бұрын
One more thing. Although similarly English is my second language as well. But I am fairly fluent in speaking as well. Because in our country, Pakistan, if you dont know English well, you dont get a good job. Anyhow, my proposal is, if you feel like its a good idea, then we can collaborate. You give me some textual material about this. I can help make some videos about all those stuff which you may then post on your channel. What say! I am excited to hear back from you. This will in turn help me with my understanding of the synth as well. Please dont mind me being very forward in my approach.
@_oscillator
@_oscillator 3 жыл бұрын
@@Arsalan-Pervez Thanks man for proposal. thats a great idea to convert text into audio. Unfortunately I can not do anything at the moment, because I'm nearly 1000 kilometers away from home. Actually I'm away last 5 years - working for life in another country. I'm not sure when I will be back home for good, maybe after few years. About your synths - I had a DX21 many years ago. Of course, any experience helps for every step you go further into world of electronic sounds, but if you compare the K2000 and DX100 is like computer against a pocket calculator. Even the M1 is just a simple toy, but there are some similarities with K2000, because basically they both are romplers. Kurzweil gives much more power with DSP algorithms, advanced modulation matrix, FUNs, also with ability to load and process external waveforms and samples thru the VAST engine. Everything else is same as M1 : synth + internal sequencer + internal FX processor.
@Arsalan-Pervez
@Arsalan-Pervez 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about that, I hope you get some job near your home which pays equally well. And yes this is the same issue at my country, so I can relate. I listened to some of the stuff that you have posted and I will definite try out, using your sounds as inspiration because honestly yours are the best videos I could find that demonstrates what a K2000 is capable of. The proposal for that will remain valid if you get time in future because I know that I am not going to get any other synth, and will be experimenting with this for years to come. So, definitely ping me you find the time. There is a lot that I can learn from you as I have only started out with these things.. I am originally a guitarist and have been playing for almost 9-10 years. Fairly intermediate, and have decided to record my own music which is why I got these synths. btw thanks again man, for entertaining my comments.

+oscillator for me morpheus can't match absolutely vast...the good of emu is the z planes filter and extensive matrix modulation....but lacks multilayers of vast, sampling import, FUNs etc etc. however...did you know that there is a way to emulate morpheus in kurzweil? well not in k2xxx series due to the limit of layers. in pc3/pc3k or forte series you could....every layer can be processed by other layers....this is cascade mode not present in k2000. create a layer with keymap or other oscillators....then cascade it through 7/8 other layers with keymap off....and select 7 bandpass filters in cascade and a lowpass...you essentially have one osc processed by multiple filters in cascade....same as emu does :)
