You are 100% right about mechanization. I was on a big job site years ago and was chatting with the owner of the biggest tree company in Louisville. He had a huge chipper on an excavator chassis that had a big arm & grapple to feed it. It would easily devour an entire 24” tree. I asked him what his monthly payment was and it was a LOT of money! I asked how he justified the expense and he said “It’s simple - this machine and one good operator will do the work of five men. That means that there’s four fewer employees I have to worry about hurting themselves, missing work cause they got arrested or have to go to family court for custody... you get the picture. AND four fewer paychecks every week!” And it all made perfect sense to me, which is scary. So yes - mechanize if you can. Love the Tree Mek.

my dad told me many years ago, you can substitute capital for labor or labor for capital. depends which is cheaper where you are at.

Tim you and Rook are really blessed. I really think ya”ll do very quality work for a fair price. Both you also help people in need when times are bad. God bless and keep videos coming. They really help me daily even though I am retired to keep me doing work outside and appreciating God’s creation outside.

There’s a reason you get a professional, they can not only do the job, but do it quick, safe and efficient, and have the skills and know how, versus joe blow doing it for half the price tearing stuff up, not doing efficient job, etc, then cost you more to fix than had you had someone who is a professional in that department.

Trying to square up and to change the front belt is a fing nightmare... the motor side belt tensioning is relatively easy and risk free...and the only one that should be messed with with any frequency..the front one until that belt breaks don’t touch it ...
