It’s alright, I think all gym noobs go through this phase because I myself was hesitant when I began. I took gym classes during high school, and kids in there felt the same way. I started going to the gym at the age of 12. I was SUUUUUUUPER self conscious and I kept starring at people and then they’d look at me, and I’d freak out. I was really hesitant to go to the weight room so I kept downstairs and did a lot of abs and regular body weight exercises. It took me 6 months to get into the weight room, like a peek. One day a person was filming a video at my gym while I was there, and I literally ran away from them when they were going around me. I was mortified of people seeing me work out because I wasn’t confident at all. After 2 years, I’m still hesitant with things but I’m successfully in the weight room and have made some friends :)

They need to find something for her that involves more complex movements, weights, or other things. I wouldn't want to do a workout if I felt like I wasn't getting anything done. All she needs is a motivator besides how she wants to look. Then, I believe she will have a much better time at the gym. When you start getting excited about how much you can do is when you will really make progress.

I just have to say this video series is amazing for girls with social anxiety that are trying to go to the gym! Honestly, my big brother was also the reason for me losing 70lbs my first 10 months at the gym! He constantly got me out of my room and would walk me to the gym, every day 3 months straight, just to keep my anxiety at bay. If it weren't for him I wouldn't have gotten rid of my gym anxiety and I wouldn't be working at one either :) Thanks for being a big brother to the girls that don't have one! I injured my foot and so when I see the jump squats, my body reacts and I feel pain in my foot. I'm with Kennedy, if you are scared don't do it. If you hurt yourself, you will be stuck thinking about it over and over again. Not worth it. Exercise safely!

The slightest push back she gives up immediately. "I don't feel like it". Well, nobody "feels like it", that's reality - suck it up and TRY. Try to be nice, try to be positive. I get it she doesn't wanna be at the gym, but that doesn't excuse her behavior or attitude. i don't necessarily like people that want to work out, I like people that are positive and optimistic and nice and actually want to try and improve themselves; trying to be good people. She was a huge drag, and I'm not sure why you're defending her. Brandon does a lot of things for his sisters that he wouldn't have done otherwise, and he puts himself out there and gets put through so much that he doesn't like - but he does his best and does it all with a smile, while they also low-key physically abuse him at the same time lol. He has more of a winning attitude. I really like his videos, but in every single one his sisters and mom is always like "no I don't feel like doing this. Just leave me alone, I wanna watch Netflix".

This was literally me and my older brother years ago. I was miserable and hated life and he was always trying to get me to do things. I hated him at the time but now I'm really happy he tried so hard to help me. I'm still not a gym bunny but I do try to exercise every day at least somewhat because it does improve my attitude. Keep trying! Someday she will be older and realize just how good it is for her mental health and she will thank you!
