To be specific, I do think Elio may have been a Trailblazer, possibly one of the original too as we know immortals and long-life species exist. I think the reason Pom Pom doesn't say anything to suggest they remember Elio is because I believe Elio was not the name they used at the time. It's strange, I've figured Firefly out even without the leaks, but Acheron and Elio I have no clue, other than I do believe Aventurine is wrong about Acheron being an Emanator, though if she is, Finality is the correct option I'd say given the inspiration (literally taken) of her name and it's connection to the Underworld

there are so many interesting clues and moments all around the quest. i’m just gonna summarise some of them here, feel free to add more! - Acheron we met at the start of the quest seems different from the Acheron we meet later in the quest. Her demeanour at the start of quest is so much more confident, she knows about the dreamscape, how it works and where everything is. However, during the quest she seems pretty clueless and very disoriented. - There is a chance Robin have been impersonated throughout the quest, considering Welt and March noticed there was something off about her voice - There is a clip of Sampo talking to someone back during the Belobog quest, when we thought he was breaking the 4th wall Seems like he was actually talking to Sparkle, he mention us and even Tavern - At some point in the quest when Acheron offers help, if we are to refuse her multiple times, there is a option pops up in red, making us unable to refuse her - Misha and Mikhail are either the same person (‘Misha’ is a short version of the name ‘Mikhail’) or they could be related - Acheron never drew her sword - When Sparkle was attacked and her body turned into goop, you can see a firefly or one small orb flying out of her - Robin’s wound is in the same spot as Firefly’s - Sam’s mecha suit has fire coming out of it on its chest in the same spot as Firefly’s details on the dress. He also has wings in the same colour scheme. But the whole wing thing to be fair almost looks like Sam from the trailer is different from Same in the quest. (we never see Sam use his wings in the quest and we never see Sam use his fire missiles in the trailer when fighting Acheron) - if you refuse to learn the truth with Aventurine, there is an alternative ending scripted by Elio - Acheron never said her name is Acheron, she always said ‘that’s what they call me’

I think a huge difference between Firefly and Tingyun's death is we barely get to know who Tingyun is while with Firefly we were given some time to know and make friends with her, basically growing a much more emotional connection towards her. With Robin i think her death serves as surprise and a build up for the next part of the story, unlike Tingyun who died for the sake of revealing a twist villain we don't even care about.

Firefly was killed way too early in my opinion. There wasn't enough time to develop the relationship between Firefly and the Trailblazer, we barely got to know Firefly and only spent a few moments with her, are we to believe that the Trailblazer cares deeply for this person that he only just met? Their relationship was just rushed, in a way Firefly was killed for shock value just like Tingyun's.. (because we all know Firefly is going to come back)

Firefly is a Stellaron Hunter and the pieces can be gathered from all the clues and connections surrounding her. She was a stowaway like Sam was implied to be, she is after the Watchmaker's legacy like all the factions seem to be after too. She calls out to a Mecha(the only one here being Sam?), which also suggests she knows Silver Wolf (Sam's partner this time) to get the code to get into the true Dreamscape. And refuses to expose her identity saying it's not the right "time" (Elio's script?).

This is way better the whole Luofu's main story. Hope that it actually deliver in later parts. However, I feel a bit off with Firefly's death bc I think the time we spent with her is way too short it's almost like they shove all the perfect ingredients to make very sad death(sad music, deadly illness, commemorate photo) but didn't give enough time to simmer. Her death is still way more impactful than Tingyun's "death", I just don't feel as sad as I thought.

I think the boss' mechanic plays into this. Theyre not truly dead, but stored somewhere. The way Sunday says "'Death' has taken them" corroborates that theory. Robin and Firefly will be back and pullable, for once I dont think this is copium. At least Firefly will definitely be ok..

(As a One Piece, I know this pain quite well.) I think it's more ok to go for reviving route bc it can be the goal that TB can go for, but I prefer killed character to stay dead in most cases. * At least, Firefly's death gave TB some meaningful emotion.

It really all depends on the next patch for the story, on whether we'll look back fondly on this, or poorly. Right now, if that's really...it, to not just Firefly, but also Robin AND Duke Inferno... Then yeah, I gotta say I'm majorly disappointed. A lot of characters killed, solely for shock value and little more. With Firefly being introduced and going all the cliche tropes to try to get you to feel attached to her, when we all know where it's going... But she ended up being so suspicious, that i really didn't feel much of anything when she 'died.' Again, this could all end up being excellent, IF the next part of the story is done well. If not, then all of this will have been just a poorly written waste. Hoping they stick the landing with it in the next patch. But I do think it's too early to say this is 'better' than the Luofu arc. People LOVED that story when it first started, all the way up to 1.2. Adored it and sang it praises. They just kinda got bored being stuck there as it dragged on, with it peaking at Phantylia fight and then kinda just months and months of not good or average story content waiting for Penacony. Now that Penacony is here, we got the rose tinted glasses. But to me, I can't help but feel like Penacony will either be looked back on fondly, or poorly, based on what they do AFTER this patch. And hopefully not just do stuff solely for shock value and no substance.

I started Penacony DOWN HORRENDOUS for Acheron and now I ended it with DEPRESSION for what they did with FIrefly and Robin. I saw SHAMPOO KIOSK and that was the start of the descent to depression. I'm sad that all my fav characters are getting killed: first Tingyun, now Firefly and Robin. BUT HERE'S A COPING THEORY: what if "Death" actually just captured them instead? Just like the mechanic in-game? (I know I'm coping so hard but I just want them to at least be playable before they actually kill them. One thing that stands out to me about Firefly's scene and why Acheron didn't draw her blade against the meme: Acheron said she can't recognize people with her memories, but through emotions (how she felt about them). And the part where it says Black Swan pitted enemies against each other (Acheron vs Sam) to get the TB out of there is quite sus. Which brings me to my crack conclusion: Firefly = Sam. Maybe in the dreamscape, Sam and Firefly are two distinct beings, but in the real world, Firefly may be Sam's AI module/interface or something. That scene where the meme attacked Firefly, it could be that Acheron didn't draw her sword to save her, because in her subconscious, Firefly is Sam, who is her enemy, of which she would have no reason or inclination to save.

Yeah thats what i thought as well. Her giving that bad excuse that she didn't react was not believable. We just got told that she single-handedly took on the Everflame Mansion and killed the head. We also witnessed it when we first met her and she 'slashed' us in less than a blink. In that moment, Acheron did not want to save Firefly from Death, but she also did not know why.

Meanwhile we got sparkle who stalked us, hypnotised us, tried to jarm us and is partly responsible for fireflies death. This is one of the coolest areas I have been in a game in a long time it’s so fun just walking around and exploring it and listening to the OST! Definitely better than 1.x (aside from OG Belobog story) story lines, HSR just seems to suffer from a pacing issue that I hope they really get a handle on at some point. I personally didnt really care for Firefly or Robins deaths (or are they...? LOL). There just wasnt any time to get to know them or have any kind of relationship build with them for me to care about them. Its a double Tingyun situation for me. I hope the story stays this strong and interesting and doesnt have the same fall as the Xianzhou.

Spoilers: Not sure if it was only me, but this is my first Honkai game and honestly when Firefly "died" I had no idea what happened... is she dead, literally? Is her consciousness destroyed? When she "died" I didnt even feel a huge amount of shock and my reasoning for that was that I don't really know anything about her, all I know is that she had some disassociation disease with her mind and body and that she was after the "watchmakers Legacy". If anyone wants to discuss this please feel free I really wanna talk about this because I feel as though I missed something and im not feeling the right things. Also I still trust Acheron honestly, even if she is an Emenator I never gauged her to have malicious intent in the slightest and she seemed like the more genuine character to me during the story quest even though I knew obviously she has more to her.

SPOILERS (Do the Penacony quest pls) Not to be toxic, but after finishing the quest and reflecting on what the hell just happened I felt as this didn't stack up to the same set up as Honkai Impact 3rd's set-up. I know it's the first act but that is exactly the reason why it feels so jarring killing off characters without letting it play off over time. Constructive Criticism wise the beginning was a very nice refreshing fresh breath of air, as the expectations were set up like the sudden dream with Mei (Calling her Mei because she reminds me of Raiden Mei lolol) and the explanation that previous Trailblazers stayed on Penacony for an unknown reason, bravo for the exposition. World building is gorgeous with the music, visuals, and interactions between characters/NPCs of the world alongside introducing the dream scape, then we skip a little to Firefly. Ngl I felt as if she was forced into the story because of how predictable a certain Honkai Impact 3rd writer wrote her (COUGH COUGH wholesome totally) and the similar design she had to another character, besides that, death flags were set on her especially with the clique that she will be guaranteed to die. (Common from this writer.) After some filler content that should not be in the first act ffs and a wonderful interaction alone with Firefly the tension starts building up as YOU the player realizes how messed up things really are. This is where this gets really tricky, because new characters start showing up with little foresight like Black Swan or tiny hints of a monster or even Sam's arrival adding up more build up for a climax right? Yeah, we do get a climax after being diluted with brand new information we didn't get time to digest it. Firefly's unjustified death, an example of why you SHOW not TELL; A.K.A. her build up leading to a mess of other characters trying to explain why Firefly died. I was more focused on the puzzle and not getting caught instead of reflecting what the hell just happened after her death. Also what is up with the reactions of the other characters? MC is sad which is cool, then everyone just forgives and forgets? (Except for the MC) BTW, where the hell are the other trailblazer members in the story because aren't they suppose to have some connection based on the exposition? IPC dude proceeds to tell us that a main villian that is hyped up died off screen. . . Then Robin's Murder Mystery scene that is just told to us that Firefly did it without letting the player digest it. Conclusion: Amazing entry, then the plot line does a hard right turn alongside with another hard right turn. Nothing felt concluded at the end story wise because nothing was really fully explained. Also side note: What the hell is IPC man doing here anymore? Isn't he here for some rock but now is a double faced agent? I'm going to fairly compare this Act I to other similar quests like Fontaine Act I or the first few chapters of HI3. Fontaine introduced us to the world of Fontaine instantly connecting us to characters and SHOWing us what Fontaine is all about, we get a climax with a certain trial concluding that trial and getting questions on what is the next act. HI3 had a similar thing with world building, introducing bonds and relationships, a compelling story, a climax with a conclusion and questions. However the difference between these Entries are that in HSR there were really no conclusions with an alarming increasing rate of questions while Fontaine and Early chapters of HI3 gave us closure on something while giving us tad bits for a questions and speculations. Questions: I am so confused on the ending. Can someone please give me a brief summary on what the future of this story can be? Why are the other Trailblazers not able to be teleported to where the MC was? Why is Sam here again, or at least the clue of why he is here. Are these death really justified for a story this early on? I was to hear what people think, I'm open to people's opinion on this, please don't be scared to say what you have on your mind. Edit: I really enjoy the discussion in the replies section with all of you guys. Thank you so much for spending some time analyzing / recapping the story with me.

to try answer your questions: 1) which part of the ending? if it's the Sunday/Sparkle bit, then they show us that Sunday knows everything and is just waiting for the right time and for the culprit to show themselves. in future versions we might learn who Acheron really is, what Aventurine's plan is and so on. 2) i dont think they can teleport 3) Sam was presumably with Firefly to help her get to Watchmaker but something went wrong on their way there 4) what i will say is in hi3 character deaths are usually sad, but in hsr they are shocking (Tingyun, Firefly, Robin). also it just can be a misdirect, they might not even be dead

Ok my theory. Sam is firefly. She was the only character we didn’t see in the beginning. Sam is her body in the “real world” because she can’t use her own body also before black swan saved us the first time it looked like she was getting ready to fight the monster and when she “died” you can see orange light coming out of her aswell,Sam initially only threaten Acheron and black swan not the MC. Acheron is obviously not the bad guy here but she might lose control of herself at times. I think sone people must be stuck in the dream probably the old prisoners of penacony. The IPC is trying to get too much control sparkle is trying to get the family to stand up against them (and also she just wants to watch the world burn like the joker that’s why she keeps saying “why so serious”)

i see it as this part of the story is really just a setup for the next parts, in dont think firefly is dead, and if you want a good video why watch unreal dreamers video about the companion quest from sparkle and black swan, why is there no real conclusion you may ask, well its just the beginning, a setup to whats still coming, we know that the story goes until 2.3 so we have still so much more to uncover here, sure it def felt a bit rushed but that was i think every story from hsr up until now and i dont mind that, but i can also see why some people dont like it, at the end of the day i dont wanna judge the whole story until we have seen everything and it concluded, because so much can still happen and be explained, that judging it now will probably just lead to nothing as other things are gonna be exposed and explained in the future patches of the story, so we need to wait until it finished to really judge the arc in its entirety, but thats just how i see it

To answer the questions: - Aventurine is here to reclaim Penacony as he confirmed when speaking with Ratio. Penacony previously was a prison owned by the IPC, but later it eventually turned out into the hotel thanks to the Stellaron and Aeon of Harmony - It may be due to the fact of our close bonds with Black Swan. Acheron mentioned earlier she had awaken something in the Trailblazer + we were only ones in the dream at the start of the quest, thus further proving the MC different reactions to dreams and memoria. - Sam is here probably for the Stellaron, just the work of Stellaron Hunters. As we know, Penacony was built mostly by the help of Stellaron - At this point, we cannot confirm if it's real death or not. The monster's name says it is "Something unto death", however it's tactics are most likely stealing souls. There's also a theory about Firefly, but idk if you want to know it. As for the Duke Inferno, I highly believe it was faked, a lie or if not, the gang will come back.

Thank you so much for the clarification@@dancingkeomi 1) If Robin is already died, then why did the body conveniently bubbled off when the MC sees it or was it a vision of the past dug up by IPC dude? 2) Fair enough. 3) That explains a bit on a possibility of why Firefly got there, however, is there an explanation on why Sam specifically was there in the first place (except for Watchmaker) or is that still a mystery yet to be solved. 4) I can see your point, HI3 rarely did shock deaths and mostly did long term deaths that has been built up to or is a set-up for the future. I just feel a little disappointed this wasn't given time to digest until Act II, however, people do have to wait 7 weeks lmao.
