Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

The story behind this song is one of the most hearbreaking stories in rock history. David Gates wrote a masterpiece tribute that tears me up everytime I hear it. I know you felt it too, Shawn and I haven't even watched the video yet. Guitar Man is another great song by Bread too.

I had this on 8-Track tape when it came out in 1972. My dad passed away two days after my 15th birthday in 1973. This song absolutely made me cry every time I played it after that. Wore that tape out and shed a lot of tears doing it.

@@terri2494 I was able to enjoy my birthday for many years after that until recently. I married my wife who shared the same birthday as me six years later. That had always been a dream of mine to find someone with the same birthday as me. We shared 41 birthdays together until she passed away from cancer three years ago July 26th. I’m right back where I started so many years ago. Thank You for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.

“Amazingness” is right! Every time I heard another Bread song on the radio, it brought a smile to my face. This song is heartbreaking, it’s real life! I lost my mom when she was 38 and I was 9. 100%. This song hits both ways for me. In 2023 I lost my partner of 37 years to cancer. It was sudden, six months from the time of diagnosis until the end. It changes your whole world, and I can 1000% relate to that feeling of I would give up everything to have them back here. I'm sorry you had to go through that with your mom too. My mom was taken from a massive stroke, which is also hard because it is so sudden.

Lost my pop in 2015 five days shy of his 91st birthday. My Mom will be 92 next month, God willing. I have always said if I outlive her, this will be played at her funeral along with Jenn Bostic’s Jealous of the Angels.

Until today, I had always thought this song was about a lover. Listening closely to the words today I realised it was more appropriate for a parent, in my case, my mother. It never fails every time I listen to this song, I end up shedding some tears. It's very a very personal song for me too, Shawn. I thought I'd suggest a new band to give a listen, if interested. "The Association - Never My Love - On The Ed Sullivan Show" (by the channel: The Ed Sullivan Show) --This song is a pop standard it was written by American siblings Don & Dick Addrisi. But The Association was the first band to top the charts with the song. The Association was an American sunshine pop band from California. They had several songs to hit the top or near the top of the charts. So, there's more of their tunes to explore in future, if interested. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you, thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot. Great tune. Two huge covers (IMO better than the original) are to be discovered. One by Jude (quite similar arrangements) and the other in reggae style by Culture Club with Boy George singing lead. Love both versions.

We can't get back those we have lost. The best you can do for them is be the best You that you can be. Another tribute song is Dan Fogelberg's biographical Leader of the Band. He wrote it for his father Lawrence Fogelberg, who was in fact a leader of a band.

David Gates truly was a great singer and this group yes was truly one of the biggest underrated groups of all time!!! Along with three dog night this group should have been into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame!!!
