Poignant for me as I was farewelled by my mum and dad when I deployed on an operational deployment with navy. Dad rang me while I was at sea heading to East Timor and we talked for a while and then he said he loved me and was immensely proud of what I do. Six weeks later, my divisional officer came and asked me to his cabin…I knew something was up when the captain and the ships chaplain was in the room. Dad passed that day six weeks after that call…I was devastated but heartened that we said our peace with each other…good reaction and good song.

I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 17. Making it wasn't easy, but it was fun. After a total of 37 years together, cancer took away my happily ever after in August of 2022. This song was tough to hear. Please be sure those you love, know you love them. Life can change so quickly.

Rough to listen to, but beautiful song. My Mom passed four years ago, Dad in the 1990s. I had great parents, especially Mom. Helped me so much over and over through the years. I miss them so much. I try not to dwell on the past, but sometimes I catch myself thinking about the family home when we were all together when I was a teenager. Didn't appreciate it then, but I really do now. I know it's hard to explain to people who's parents are still here, but you don't understand the empty place it leaves in your life when they're gone. I understand some folks don't have good parents and I'm sorry for that, but if you do don't take them for granted.

An album cut by Bread that is well worth hearing is "Our Lady Of Sorrow". Co-written and sung by Bread's other singer, James Griffin. It's a haunting song about a woman fighting addiction.
