If you can't afford designer bags and feel a certain way about expensive designer bags, then don't watch this video. Like do you read a video title before clicking on it? The title makes it clear that the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful and although I can't afford these bags yet, I know one day I will. I wanted to know which designer bag was truly worth my hard-earned money and one that I would get the most out of. That being said, if you're reading this, thank you for sharing this video with us and please make more videos like this. Maybe *regbags* is your next choice?

I had a medium black Chanel bag with a white logo on it that I borrowed from my sister to take on vacation to Hawaii. Everyone raved about it. I didn’t even know what a Chanel bag was at the time. When I went for a job interview, the interviewer told me that Chanel bags were very beautiful and that her daughter would definitely love one. On my first day of training, my mentor jokingly told me that if I got tired of the bag, I could just throw it to her. They said that the bag must have cost me a fortune. I was curious about the bag, so I asked my sister where she bought it. She said that another sister from Canada gave it to her, so I called that sister as well. The sister from Canada asked if I wanted it and she would give me the wallet that came with it as well. I said how could you give someone something so expensive. She said, “I don’t think so. I bought this bag on *regbags* for a cheap price and with a guarantee” The moral of the story is: All that glitters is not gold. Fakes can glitter too. I don’t care about the brand. I care about the functionality of the item.

The whole ‘you wouldn’t ask your Starbucks barista how much they make a year’ is wild bc WE DO. Most make around $30k, most nurses make about $60k depending on where you live. We have an understanding of hourly pay, but influencing is a new field where no one has any idea how much they make bc there is not a general understanding bc it varies so much

At a gathering of close friends, I found that more and more friends began to pay more attention to personality and stories rather than simple brand labels. Inspired by this, I began to explore bags that can reflect personal style without being too expensive, and *regbags* helped me find a bag that suits my taste. This bag is both low-key and cheap, and there is really nothing wrong with it.

I do think across the board salary in careers should be better discussed. If i go in for a job interview where im asked to name my desired salary, i want to propose a reasonable amount based on the market and my experience. Same goes for influencers. Because this is a job nowadays it would be nice to have more of these discussions so that people (and young students seeing this as a career in the future) know how to reasonably position themselves for brands. We put ourselves at risk of being taken advantage of in jobs when money is never discussed

On another note: *most influencers are ALREADY RICH.* Or at the very least, higher middle class. So influencer economy is just the rich giving more money to themselves. They work hard to appear relatable and not "too spoiled" but if you look behind the curtain, they have some family ties to wealth more often than not. I haven't seen any brand do a brand deal with an actually poor or working class person in a long time to actually change it improve their lives. It's glamorous people hoarding the ad revenue to sell to the unglamorous masses.

And when he turned 11 I discussed with him and had him look through my IG at all the old photos of him when he was younger to make sure that it was okay, that even though my IG is private, that those photos remained up. That to me is just being a responsible parent and protecting my children online. I don't understand the mothers that don't feel this way.

What annoys me about influencers is that they push consumerism a lot with excessive sponsorships or affiliate links. I’m not really mad about it, but as someone who feels easily influenced, it feels like they’re taking advantage of me and people like me. And it isn’t necessarily that I have deep para-social relationships with creators I follow. I’m also working on my spending habits so there’s that factor too. I don’t know… maybe this is really just a me issue but it just feels icky. I want them to be able to do this full time if that’s what they want, but not at the literal expense of their audience.

I think something that is slightly missing from the whole conversation around women/beauty and fashion influencers, particularly those who use affiliate links, who make a lot of money from it, is the ethical problem behind that. Because the truth is that these women make 50k a month, mostly by inciting other women, to buy stuff all day long (conveniently, throught their affiliate links) and I think that's an issue. It actually drives other women to buy stuff they don't need, and often get into debt with overconsuming all the things their favorite influencers sells them. I'm all for women making money, I think it's incredibly important. But it really seems to me that most of these influencers, are making that money, by selling out their followers and treating them almost exclusively as consumers, who are only there to make them more money. And I find that gross personally.

It’s not only to merely post a photo, it’s the usage rights of the image as well. The company can use the photo for promotion, marketing, paid ads, online or perhaps offline (depending on the contract), but yeah the wider the usage rights, the more the payment. Think about it; It’s the same like doing it traditionally like going to an agency, paying for the model, paying usage rights, paying agency fee, hiring a photography team, doing the photoshoot, etc, and it turns out to be at least double than that “20k”. So yeah paying an influencer is considered cheaper.

I think there’s a distinction between influencers or influencing and content creation - when people make valuable content on the internet (which often involves a financial or time investment in the beginning) we expect that they will eventually monetise their platform and do sponsored content to sustain what they’re doing. A lot of these people we would consider influencers and not content creators are kinda like the new celebrities - people used to be “famous for being famous” and were typically from a wealthy or successful background - now the internet makes it easier for ordinary people to gain celebrity status by posting pictures of themselves/their lifestyle, and I think that can irk people because these people can seem “undeserving” of the money they make, unlike content creators who are still providing their fans/audience value. Personally I think that rather than projecting our own disapproval for influencers making obscene amounts of money, we should really be questioning the system that enables this - how might we be perpetuating this through our own consumption habits, and if in a position to do so, how much we change things to be more fair?

I think the reason for the insistance or curiousity about influencer earnings is that it's not transparent. We could estimate how much a teacher or barista made. But also influencers make money off their audience. We are the product, so it's perhaps an imterest in how much we, oursleves are worth.

I think if an influencer is selling a class or guide on how to become an influencer then they should reveal their income just because they’re trying to show how you can make money doing what they do. I’m into photography and I wouldn’t want to buy a class on making money with photography if the photographer isn’t making money as a photographer. If the influencer is just showing their life, I don’t care if they talk about their income.

You're lucky you can afford this "skincare" because as a content creator/influencer you, too have quite an advantage. Of course, you appear to be honest and very open and call attention to the atrocities in social media. It's sad to see the creators I have been following for years have now acquired egos and behaviours completely unrecognisable and I can no longer follow them. The brands they endorse show their inability to even understand the plight of us "real" people who have to be careful what we spend in the grocery store. I find it fascinating that the engagement on their end completely disappears and reading the stans comments makes me gag...hoping to catch the eye of their para-social relationship hero by vigilante protection against honest perceptive commenters. Ick! It's difficult to lose all desire to hear someone's voice when once you truly enjoyed hearing their lifestyle content. Bottom line, I really like you and enjoy your content but I hope that in 2 years I don't become ill when I hear your voice. I'm just being honest and I tend this to truly express my discomfort with the evolution of my favourite creators. It actually hurts my heart. I want heroes to truly be heroes and not need to vote for the least worst candidate ever again! Ok...I've digressed❤

@@CaitlinPawlowski I have it too - you influenced me! It’s so cute. Just turning winter where I am, and I’m already looking forward to pulling it out again in the spring.

Many of the influencers that I followed for fun content in the past now have become a commercial for various products or Amazon- thats all they talk about now. At first there were a few recommendations- which I took the bait but after a while I was just tired of being constantly marketed to- it was no longer fun- I was just a number. I understand why they do it- not knocking it but I just got tired and will never purchase anything through an influencer- its exhausting- a perfect example to me is Shay Whitney - she is lovely but she is just an Amazon employee now- no shade but I just can’t watch her anymore….she apparently is making so much and that is great- just not interested in the constant selling content ❤

Omg that couple is so painfully Southern. Pookie is a deep south term of endearment for a loved one, typically a daughter though. I was born and raised in southern Louisiana and my parents have always called me pook and pookie 😂😂 I have nothing else constructive other than I have now heard my name in an Australian accent (Paige) 🎉

I have to say, I understand why people say they don't care about people buying fakes or counterfeit goods, or why people should care. However, people don't necessarily "care" about people who own fake goods. Smart people will buy bags at *regbags* .In fact, people who have money to buy luxury goods and invest in them do so for a reason.

The amount of money influencers make doesn’t bother me. The amount of work (or lack thereof) that goes into what they do doesn’t bother me. What I take umbrage with in regards to influencers is how fleeting their work/content is. Sponsored content is nothing more than an advertisement, and there is nothing inherently wrong with that. There are thousands of memorable ads over the last 100 years. The Volkswagen Lemon ad, the hilltop “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke” commercial, Apple’s “1984” Macintosh commercial, etc. With influencers, how memorable is any of their sponsored content? (Or even all of their content; how many influencers are indistinguishable from each other?) All of these influencers are vying for our attention, but not offering anything that is really worth our time.

For a few reasons I felt like since selling a lot it doesn’t reflect who I am anymore also for safety reasons I didn’t like the idea of people seeing a lot I had once bought I hope you can understand 🫶🏻

it's no wonder every youngster wants to be an influencer, never mind a real job, I mean the money sounds amazing, but I feel it's a fleeting industry and completely saturated. Also I'm not on tik tok so I don't know any of these. BUt I've never been able to make an income from my youtube channel, probably the wrong kind but I wouldn't want to seel pink toys for 20K esp if I had a conservative upbringing like theirs..everything for money. sometimes I wonder if they young people get handed money way too easily and when hardship hits they'll be in trouble

You could make that argument I suppose for many business owners or entrepreneurs Not all stay in the same industry all their lives- some sell their business or simply move on to the next so who knows how long they want to remain influencing I guess time will tell ☺️

I don’t think individuals necessarily are obligated to say their yearly salaries, but there should be better job statistics available for watchdogs, academics/journalists, and career information for young people. I just started my channel because for so long I thought it was a one in a million shot to make money on KZbin and wrote it off as not a ‘reasonable’ option 🤦🏻‍♀️ But now I’m giving it a go because it seems like a market growing while my local economy has not shown me much kindness. And also a place where my neurospicy tendencies are an advantage rather than a liability 🙃 ps if you like upcycling and making art from garbage, I’m a Pastafarian minister and garbage girl with content you might like 😉

Being influencer is like being in MLM... those who get lucky are at the right place and right time will make ridicish amounts. But it is props like 1%. Same goes for OF girlies. 99% will make nothing or small amounts. OF girlies actually admit it, but funnily failed influencers will not speak up. Lets just take so called shopping channels etc.... people might put in more than they make and end up in negatives. But we keep talking like influencer is something you decide to become and become and then you get lot of money, but it is just 1% like in most areas in world. 1% gets all and most get nothing or little.

Around 19:10 yeah we're all curious but honestly I have a habit of asking people how much they make, especially if they have a similar job to mine. People find it offensive sometimes so I read the room, obviously, it's not like walking up to someone and demanding. I honestly think we all should be more open about how much we're making so that we all have a benchmark. Mayeb then our chances of being exploited mightttttttt be lowered

I really think they ignored the price just for the label. No matter the quality, nothing on this planet is worth $15,000 a bag. But I spent 200 on a super treasure from *regbags* and I no longer blame people who buy fakes.

I find it strange that you talk about "these people" like you're not one of them? Not that there is anything wrong with them. But you're more like them than you are like us. Which I guess is the vibe you're trying to set. Why not embrace your true self. 😉

This is an interesting comment- I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself an influencer I make a KZbin video a week and barely post to any other platform 😂 or push many products at all so I wouldn’t necessarily think im similar to an influencer who recieves 20k for a photo or gets flown around the world I suppose because I only really focus on KZbin I don’t consider myself in the influencing space and watch quite a lot but I can understand why you think that

You genuinely think that was intentional? As opposed to needing to make the thumbnail look okay and fit as much as I can in? Believe it or not not everyone lives their lives constantly finding ways to attack others but unfortunately people like you believe so.
