@GolfSidekick4 жыл бұрын
Thanks playa. This is not something I could do 10 years ago. This is a new understanding. I hope you may learn this . But it came with the understading that what happens on the golf course is inconsequential and that as in life, we won't remember the single poefie shot. What we will remember though is the steady and consistent decline into failure by making tiny little decisions regularly that lead to total destrcution. If you can stem the tide of the negative and destructive thoughts by turning your attention to the joy of problem solving, you will never play shit golf again. The prior shot provided the opportunity to show off your prowess on the next shot.

When I watch your videos I'm envious of a few things: 1. The ease with which you swing. It's so smooth and loose. I try to overpower the ball much more, even when I try to swing smooth. 2. The vocabulary you use, which is awesome and cracks me up. 3. The open courses! These tree lined courses in America are brutal for scoring. If you're off-line at all, you're dead. I love these course set ups. Not easy, but also not so penalizing you're done with a bad shot or two. Great stuff!
@GolfSidekick4 жыл бұрын
Treelined courses are easier to play. I would take them over these courses anyway of the week. The water on the tropical courses which features on most holes is where everyone gets destroyed. I've brought people out who play on tree lined courses, and within 6 holes, they've blown their handicap because of the water, the speed of the greens, the pace and the grain of the greens, many factors playa. Gotta be careful what you wish for, because looks are deceiving on camera. Of all the people who normally play Western style parkland courses, who came to play out here, I have yet to see one dude lose less than 6 balls in a round.

Of course playa - I shot a poefies score the other day of 80. Why was it poefies? I drove the ball like a god. I am serious, average on Garmin S40 is 289 yards over all the drives. Nearly on, on a lot of the par 4s. I should have shot a 68. But knifed countless pitches across the green, and putted like a dope. Then day before yesterday, I shoot a scrabling 80 driving the ball all over the show like a mug, but recovery game like a beast. Waddagame. Waddaday. Just like to get out and enjoy the day with my friends. Nothing more.

Putting stoke looked super confident. Something that helps me a bunch to take some off a club, especially in that 120 range is bringing my feet closer together and hitting that punchy shot. Worth a try on the range.
@GolfSidekick4 жыл бұрын
I find something in the putting stroke in this video. It's a moment of hesitation at impact due to the increased length of the back swing. This is something that translates into my life and vice versa. Prep prep prep MOMENT OF ACTION and I hesitate but I do ACT. Then the moment of releasing the action into the world, much like releasing the putterhead. It's very diffcult. You can see a slight yip in the bottom of the stroke. That is my life. Then once the action is released, I enjoy the ride. Maybe if I can release the tension of the unknown in my real life, the putting stroke will follow suit. I like your shot inside 120 idea and I will implement it with more confidence when i learn these wedges. but the wedges are brand new so need to spend some time on the distances and swing needed for each distance.

Great vid and love watching your progression after the lessons. So helpful with understanding the process of improving. With using more rotation in your swing are you finding you are hitting your clubs different numbers? Have been working on rotating & staying connected and have gained distance so am curious to your results. Thanks!
@GolfSidekick4 жыл бұрын
At this stage, when i got it right, the ball goes 10 yards further. When i get it wrong, its the same. But after the next lesson and then the third lesson, the driver is now averagin insane amounts using the Garmin S40...not just distance on the scorecard minus the distance to the pin. Genuine GPS distance. My average is up to 289 all drives. With two per round reaching 300-310 al carry because the courses are soaked out here in monsoon season. On the irons, am also getting longer distance with 2-3° more loft as I changed to JPX 919 Tour. I am not convinced with them yet since the Srixons in this video are so potent. But lets see. So far, my clubs are going a couple yards longer with more loft. So I need to dial back and start swinging closer to 85% instead of 100 due to insecurity in the process of change. When you compress a ball properly, fuck me, it flies so far that it makes your balls swell.
@coreyl62214 жыл бұрын
@@GolfSidekick yeah I've noticed the same with the flight and the swelling😉 Just wish I had gotten more serious sooner working on staying connected. Great game and putting stretch ! One feedback is that I believe your 110 to 120 yard avoidance is more of a psychology thing. Don’t you think so? I am not sure if you have four wedges. If not, you should which with your length, you should be able to cover 85 yards to 130. Like Jack Nicklaus said, primarily you just need one swing for all different club. Your loft will take care of the distance. Getting a putt within 20 foot should not be a problem for your wedge. I hope this helps.
